EPTI decided to make a blog containing semi-frequent updates on the activities with my clan, Clan Eternal Plague([eP]). Posts will include announcements of official streaming times, Game Night recaps, Tournament recaps, and general SC2 information.
To give a little information about my clan Eternal Plague; it started from the ashes of a dead Brood War clan entitled wX (Wolves in eXile) in 2008. We were primarily a BNet clan and held our own clan channel on USEast (/join Clan eP) for quite some time. For quite some time we had members numbers in the low double digits (10 or so active players) and it wasn't until the SC2 Beta came out that our clan started to grow astronomically. When the beta came out we decided to create a website for the clan and bought a domain: http://www.clanep.org
After the beta came out we shot up in member numbers up to almost 30. In light of out our new success we started running small tournaments and got ourselves a vent server (what's a gaming clan without a way to communicate *cough*BLIZZARD*cough*). When the game finally went retail in late July we saw another spike is user activity and registration.
Shortly there-after we thought we needed to revamp our website from just a half-assed, half-broken website to something more organized, clean, and overall better looking website because, hell, who's going to join a gaming clan/community when their website sucks? I sure won't!
A few months later of constant growth and we find ourselves here today with an amazing clan experience and community. Just recently we hit 80 members! Also, recently we decided to start streaming our frequent "Game Nights" and "King of the Hills" for fun and to get the word out of our ever-growing community. We even have a pair of commentators that know their way around the place. The one commentator (TorukMakto) has been casting BW games since the beginning of time and has a lot of experience under his belt and the other (Splinter) has been in the SC scene since the early 2000s.
I am truly amazed at how fast and large Clan eP has grown from it's inception is early 2008. We've certainly hit our bumps along the way, but I'd like to think we've came out on top so far!
