Today we cover some very basic terms.
GPM: Girls Per Month is a hotly debated topic. One school of thought (i.e. those who have high GPMs themselves, or admire the stratospheric GMP of pros or both) contends that GPM is very much a measure of skill, and that only Gold-league and below n00bs would possibly think otherwise. The other school (almost exclusively those with low GPMs) contend that what you do with the GPM is far more important than how high it is. Generally, people giving sincere advice to newer playas tend to say that a high GPM will arise naturally out of a solid play style and they shouldn’t be worrying about it at all.
Whichever school we fall into, between us guys, we know secretly that we’d love to have a higher GPM, regardless of whether it implies skill or spamming, because it’s undeniably awesome to brag about.
Macro: This is far and away the most important aspect of play-style, well above memorizing builds and micro. Micro gets you out of bad situations and improves good situations, but good macro ensures that you’re always in a great position. Always be building yourself up, whether in terms of body, economy, hairstyle or fashion sense. The best micro in the world won’t save you if, when the time comes, you look like something the cat ate, vomited up and then dragged in, or can’t get a table at Chez Swish without bankrupting yourself.
Builds/openings: you’ll need to try a lot of these and get good at them and not mind failing at first, because each situation (and a players personal taste) rewards something different. Which map are you playing? If you’re playing on College Party or Happening Club and the drinks and E are flowing, a simple “Hello there my name’s X, buy you a drink? -> progressively closer dancing -> isn’t it warm in here, feel like taking a walk?” build can work wonders. Players may extemporize by substituting the walk for a cigarette or cigar outside.
It would be madness, however, to try this at The Office. A slower macro oriented game is better rewarded here, like going “Teasing + compliments” to buy yourself time to expand and eventually overwhelm.
Whatever you do, don’t harass.
Micro: It is very possible, though unlikely, to have great macro and still mess it up because in the moment you freeze up and can’t micro at all. Everybody knows to think up of good ways to act and speak, but what separates the good and bad players is the smoothness of execution and the naturalness of their actions, particular during tense, game-changing moments. Practice, practice, practice.
Cheese
Certain players, often looked down upon though they use a perfectly valid strategy, choose to Cheese. They go for a very quick “put-down -> praise up” rush to get inexperienced girls to pin their self-worth to the chap in question. Also known as the “jerkass method”, it is espoused by pros such as Mystery
You can argue with the method, but possibly not with the results. Beware: This method will net you a lot of wins until you reach a certain level, and then will get put down hard.
