A few years ago I moved into my own place by myself. Rent and bills were insane and the place was completely barren. Luckily my mom and her boyfriend helped me out quite a lot, letting me move in my old bed, a washing machine, and my mother's boyfriend's old fridge. It was an old, dirty fridge, but I cleaned it up and stored lots of frozen vegetables inside. I never ate the vegetables, but the fridge nethertheless done its job.

Why is everyone saying this isn't a big deal .. you are offering him a ride home but if it's not on time he calls his parents? fuck that he can call his parents every time from now on and why couldn't his parents give you a ride home? or am I missing something?

what, a favor is still a favor. He should have the decency to at least explain himself or leave on good terms. Maybe OP thought he was a true friend and not just a friend or an aquaintance, in which case he could be upset. If they wernt that close then whatever. But all in all, yea its not that big of a deal. If you guys are good friends, you probably know his personally so just accept it or talk to him about it. If you guys arnt that close then it doesnt really matter much.

It's just irritating because he won't wait 30 minutes, he is the one who got angry at me. Which I found immensely retarded and annoying. Also, it was like 11 p.m. when we had to change schedules, which was too late to really tell Friend 1, Friend 2 was the one who called us. It's just that he doesn't have the time to wait 30 minutes, which is really not a long time. He really got angry at me as soon as he heard, and immediately called his parents.

In my very honest opinion, he is probably playing Call of Duty right now. He is kind of a video game addict or something. Apparently he joined some sort of clan in Call Of Duty? Screw that. SC for life!

Thirty minutes is long enough to screw up somebody's schedule. Did you ever consider that your friend might actually have something to do right after school ends. Anyway, it might be annoying, but there's no reason to get worked up over something so small.

Do you really hate Call of Duty or something? You keep bringing it up unnecessarily.

Stop comparing what other people to do as though you have shit figured out and they don't. Oh, you hang out with friends at school for 30 minutes? And it isn't a big deal to you? Clearly you do it right, and anyone who doesn't do things like that is doing it wrong.

There is a lot about other people that you don't know. Maybe he hates school, if he does there is probably reasons for that. Maybe he fucking loves call of duty, there'd probably be good reasons for that too.

I can sympathize with the OP since Friend 1's actions are annoying in multiple ways.

First he is wasting his parents' money, and gas, plain and simple. It's amazing how inefficiently human societies will opt to operate due to personal selfishness.

Second he is wasting his parents' time. I assume he's a student; is 30 minutes of his time that will be spent wasted for enjoyment worth 30 minutes of his parents' time, which could possibly be used to make money? This is assuming his parents aren't just goofing around atm and Friend 1 intends to play CoD during those 30 minutes saved.

Third he is withholding information and possibly outright lying to you, which is unacceptable in a friendship and a breach of trust. The matter at hand is inconsequential, but it sets a poor precedent and I would place less value on his friendship, at least until he explains himself.

Fourth, if the OP's account of the conversation is true verbatim, he was downright rude to presumably a friend who was doing him a favor and on the matter of that favor.

Of course the whole matter could be trivial and everything could be resolved with no hard feelings. Good luck OP, I hope your friends are more polite, laid-back, and open with you in the future.

Unless you and your friend live terribly far away from school, walk/bike/bus is a cool way home. Besides the fact it is better for the world (quite literally), no more "waiting-at-school" conflicts!

Still, I honestly think waiting 30 minutes at school is no biggie, your friend should be mature enough to stick to the original agreement and make good use of that time. Perhaps you should suggest to your friend various ways to make good use of time at school (homework, socializing, etc.).
