So. Today I figured out my friend is a complete idiot. We used to carpool, and today my parents, decided it would be better to pick my brother, and my two friends up at 3:30. So when I told Friend 1 (as I will refer to him from now on) at lunch, he immediately called his parents, to get them to pick him up at 3:00, claiming he had "stuff" to do. What he said, was pretty retarded..
Friend 1: "I'm not wasting 30 fu*king minutes at school. I have stuff to do!"
Me: "What "stuff" do you have to do anyways?"
Friend 1: "I have extracurriculars, and basketball!"
Me: "You mean Call of Duty?!"
Friend 1: *leaves courtyard*
Yeah that was pretty retarded. Made me pretty pissed at the end of the day too. Can't even stay 30 minutes after school, not a big deal from whatever crap he has to do. I don't know, I'm really confused. I'm really just venting right now. Just wondering if anyone else has a friend like that?

All of you are missing the point. The OP is frustrated that his friend wont wait with him for 30 minutes and be in a car with his parents because this is a sign that his friend is unwilling to commit to a serious relationship.
Furthermore, the OP's subconscious homosexual feelings for his friend makes him even more angry and confused. He feels incredibly hurt that his friend doesn't want to spend quality time with him, and would rather play video games. I understand this, because I've known girls who would get mad at me for playing video games too.
Add to this formula the taboo of homosexuality and the allure of the forbidden, and you have the perfect mix of sexual frustration and emotional loneliness bubbling up. Like the character "Jack Twist" in Brokeback Mountain, the OP is pushed into depression because of his "Ennis's" avoidance issues and self-denial. The OP has a dream of simple love and happiness alone with his friend, but his friend destroyed that dream by going home 30 minutes early to play "Call of Duty."

Sorry you're upset, hope you guys resolve it. I personally don't see the problem, based on the story alone, but I'm sure some details just got lost in the retelling.
Can't really fault someone for not wanting to waste 30 mins( other than extra environmental damage of not carpooling  ). Is it overkill to make extra plans to save 30mins? Maybe... but if even at worst if he is just going to fuck around and not use the time well, it's a strict gain of 30 mins. What specifically offended you about it? Did you feel it insulted your dependability maybe?

I would've been pretty irritated too in that situation. First off, he's not being very grateful to your parents for the carpooling. Also, I don't like his type of response. It's as if he's saying "How dare you make my wait 30 minutes of my precious time" to wait for this one time (at least that's how I'm getting) that your parents are doing a diffferent schedule? For some "extracurricular activity" that he can't even mention properly?
If he had activities to attend or something important, I'd understand although still irked at his ungrateful response, but this just seems like a retarded 15yo with no sense of ettiquette or common sense. Ah, high school...
