In fact the SC2 crowd, while disappointing in previously unimaginable ways, is not entirely deplorable. Still, I have one salient beef with the SC2 crowd, and that is specifically with those among them who truly believe BW to be unworthy of respect. Some of the most endearing relics of my childhood were games from BW's era, so the criticism of its graphics as a reason for discounting the game entirely particularly annoys me. I've come to terms with the future of Starcraft, but it seems many new SC2 fans can't even be bothered to revisit the past. Oh well, it's natural for people to be disinterested in the past. If an inclination towards learning from the past existed in people at large, no society with access to recorded history would ever desire war. | ||
