So yesterday (thursday the day after I got my wisdom teeth pulled) I was playing some starcraft2 1v1 ladder and after taking a brief break (both of us) I started chatting strats with my good friend snackattack (not IRL) we were both high plat ATM. So I click the find match button and after it has found a match who was it but my good friend snackattack in 1v1 ladder at peak hours. As we got into game he shouted lol, and I an OMG of sorts, of course it had to be PvP another 2 unit mirror. He was thrown off by the odds of this but I kept concentration and won with that god damn korean 4 gate. Now after I beat him I was promoted to diamond (true story) the match after for snackattack also promoted him to diamond, in the same division as me!

TL;DR:
I 1v1'd laddered and ran into my practice partner who I was just recently chatting with (right before I clicked the button). I won got promoted to diamond he won his game after and got promoted to my division.

haha, I remember in beta, I played my friend Khaymus like 3-4 times while we happened to be in vent together. It even happened twice in a row once.
With the smaller playerbase that was a lot more common though I suppose.

Yeah that happened to me. Guy on my f list randomly messages me "Hey we're searching for game at same time, maybe we'll play eachother!". And then we did.

i got matched against day[9] once in beta when i was offracing. I lost badly, then asked for a rematch with my main race. he was like nah im laddering. next match, I chose my main race thinking I might run into him again, and I did haha. This was back when I was pretty terrible though, and I got owned by phoenix when I tried to 2 rax marauder in tvp :X

I lost to a PvT to a kind of cheesy marauder all-in but I was placed against the same guy the next game and won in some 30 minute long epic match. The guy flew to the island and refused to leave so even though the game was over in 30 minutes it took me another 30 minutes to kill all his turrets and shit... I love it when stuff like this happens!
