I lost a good friend to EVE online . I do nothing but harbor resentment. One drugs doesn't replace another and you wont stop one SC2 comes! nooooooooooooooooooo eve commentaries : ( (Oh wait, you aren't _that_ diggity I think)
No I am_that_diggity
I think the pay to continually play aspect will keep me away.
Obviously you won't come close to experiencing the vast majority of EVE in just one month, but there are so many aspects of it that are worthwhile nonetheless.
I am actually shocked how quickly I am in a combat ready situation. Day 3 I have my 3rd ship and already people were speculating on my "fittings" (build). I was just throwing in whatever I had on hand but apparently you can fly this ship regularly and be fairly successful.
That being said I think Eve has 4 awesome things going for it
1) Low barrier of entry
You can hop in and start shooting at stuff almost instantly. (albeit unsuccessfully)
Goons actually have a guide aimed at making newbies useful in 6 days
2) Passive Skill gain
Since skills go up via time, you dont have to be logged in 24/7
3) Massive
There is a lot to learn to keep things interesting
4) Politics
Drammmmmaa drama drama drama drama
Reading the history of all this, ... Almost wants to make me play too. But I doubt you'll get into the global politics of it all in the one month you'll be playing / idling.
Just watch me >
