I CAUGHT A SHINY POKEMON!!!
Today is Wednesday, so I thought I should go catch some Pokemon using the Hoenn Sound.
I was Route 36 (Hoenn Sound - Plusle and Minun), I tried to step on the grass first before using the Pokegear. And then...

I was overjoyed!
Unfortunately, Hoothoot and its evolution, Noctowl has very uninspiring stats. Also my shiny Hoothoot is female, with a Gentle nature (+SDEF, -DEF), with very low IV (its HP IV is probably ZERO).
Well, I suppose I will just make her learn Fly and use her awesome shininess to carry me around. I got tired of using Lugia as a HM-slave :D It's way more awesome than flying around with Lugia!

Wow, grats!
I caught my first shiny in Platinum, it was a Ralts, and i desperately wanted a Gallade, but alas the shiny was a female. And impish nature. FML.
One time, I let my little sister play through my FireRed, and she found a shiny venonat in the safari zone... and wasnt able to catch it... I think she cried.

It doesn't even look like a shiny.. and it awesome you caught one though you have a like 1 in 8000 chance to do so.

Its a pokemon with a special coloring basicly. They are extremely hard to catch.

first non gyrados shiny i got was a noctowl at the same place that ash got his i believe, that was kinda cool

I've always been wondering with these single player games. Why go through the countless hours of repetitive numbness, when you can just edit them in to make your pokemon of your dreams? Similar to games like football manager etc... These are single player games. Might as well enjoy it to the fullest, instead of wasting hours.. days.. weeks.. months... YEARS on some fruitless task.

Besides the gyrados, I remember catching a shiny pikachu, false swipe scyther in silver iirc, and then one or two other shinies. One of them was a flying type, can't remember what it was. My friend lied to me and told me there was a shiny cave full of lvl 100 shinies

Tauros is actually a pretty decent pokemon with decent attack and speed. It makes a good normal sweeper.

I remember when I turned off the game LITERALLY about a couple thousand times, in front of Lugia, so I could catch a shiny one hahahahahahaha.

lugia is awesome
I always end up using Victreebel as an HM slave (in Silver, I gave it sweet scent/flash/cut, and in Crystal [emulator version!] I gave it flash/cut...)
and then I gave gyarados strength lol

My friend did this for mewtwo. For weeks. Finally, the shiny appeared...and he shut it off out of habit.

I still have my shiny metagross that I used in fights, gosh hes a freaking beast, I wouldn't trade him for a full team of fully trained iv and good stats pokemon. NEVER!

I had a shiny Ponyta in Silver, I think. That was like ten years ago and I've played every Pokemon game since and found none >_>
My friend found two shiny Magcargos lol, the first time he didn't have any pokeballs on him and the second time he was doing some co-op double battle thing in D/P and his teammate killed it haha

I also remembered it was a fucking Shroomish from R/S/E.........Omg........Breloom turned into a beast in D/P/Pt. Doesn't matter though since I lost the save file. And I have Pokesav if I ever wanted a real team haha.

I caught a shiny mankey once and I was like HOLY SHIT WHY IS IT THAT COLOUR, then I was like OH RIGHT SHINIES

I caught a shiny green Tentacool, which I suppose is not astounding accomplishment considering how many of them appear when you are trying to cross the damned sea -_-
Traded it away to my friend for all legendaries I couldn't get in my version of the game as I was not hardcore enough to care about collecting them in first place.

I met a shiny geodude in Hayward Cave in plat, I was so excited because I restocked on pokeballs a couple minutes before.
Then geodude self-destructed first turn.

I haven't run into any shinies yet besides the Gyarados. I'm jealous Still working on FR though so there's still a chance!
