Okay so, I should preface this by saying that I am a very stupid person. If stupidity makes you angry, you may want to avoid the next few paragraphs. You'll probably read this and think "Wow, is this guy serious?" I should be able to figure this out but I'm a little bit in panic mode right now and I don't know where to go about this so I thought I could ask here and see if anyone had any ideas of what to do.
I was a student at university for 3 semesters, I couldn't attend in the semester after that (this past spring) because of personal reasons.
I guess I should have looked at the university's policy about this (stupid) because now when I go online to check the date fees are due for next semester, it lists me as a "former" student rather than current and obviously I can't register or anything. I can't figure out what to do, I don't know who I should try to contact about this because I was really hoping to take up classes again next semester. I looked online and I can't find anything about former students re-enrolling. I know I need to talk to someone from the university about this but I don't really know who it would be, can anyone please help me out? Do I have to re-apply or something?

Every university is different. Just get off your butt and go ask them in person. Make an afternoon of it. Best idea is probably to go to someone who works in the department you were in. Worst comes to worst they'll tell you who you need to go to.
They're not going to reject your money. Computers are just stupid.

I'm sure you could send one email and they'd either help you or direct you to someone who could. Just find some kind of help email address that you can send to on their site.

Check out the admissions office or registrar's office at your university. Those are the new student / class registration administrators you'll need to talk to.
|
As people stating. Go in person and get it resolved. While doing things on the internet are easier and faster they can also be incredibly more frustrating.
Been there man. Just take initiative and make a call.

My university takes 5 days to email me back to tell me I need to talk to someone else. If it's important you gotta go in person.
|
Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely be going there ASAP.

Wow, is this guy serious?
xD. jk. If you were taking a semester/year off for personal reasons, chances are they'll let you back in as soon as you register for the next semester. You definitely shouldn't need to reapply (like a high schooler) or anything like that.

lol just call the registrar's office, i'm sure there is a very simple solution to this

Just re-register. You have to have ongoing classes in order to be pre-registered. If you miss out on a semester, they'll cut you out as a "current" student. If you can't do it online, go to campus and handle your business there.

Hey ^_^ it's alright to be stupid sometimes don't be too hard on yourself!

Foresight so poor, we ought to call yours threesight... ... ... I'm going home

talk to the admissions office first, the people that work there are usually super friendly (and have to be to get hired). they want you registered and ready to go, so call them first.
|
Ask registrar's, of course. They deal with your scenarios ALL THE TIME.
