Alrighty, thanks a bunch. Honestly at this point I think I might just have to reinstall windows, though. Such a pain but this problem is pretty well hidden. Hope you can find a better solution.

I would rather see you run the windows repair utility to see if there are any irregulars with your installation before you decide to reinstall the operation system.

Do you have any extra hardware at your disposal that can be tested with?

How do I go about REPAIRING registry keys?

I had a guy come in awhile ago and clean up my computer.. he removed pctools and installed avg. Ever since I've had this really annoying pop up shit. It sstarting to really bug me so I decided to clean computer myself. i'm going through my registry right now deleting keys and values, but I don't know what to do with things listed as "Registry value to be repaired". Like.. I have no idea. I can give you full extensions if you need them.

Yes. I fine tune computers to have them match up for reducing bottleneck on a weekly basis as my side work IRL.

Feel free to ask away for any suggestions or help on a current system or setup you are curious about syncing to maximize performance.

Well, I ended up doing a bunch of stuff that never really worked. I've come up with some new info, though. The computer restarts approximately every 8 hours. A similar problem to this person:

When I play SC2 or Wow I sometimes get blue screens with different stop codes after them.

Hardware:
GPU: 9800GTX+ 512mb
CPU: i5 750 1156 LGA
Mobo: MicroStar P55-GD65

OS: Windows XP Home

Crash1: STOP 0x00000050
Crash2: STOP 0x0000004E
Crash3: STOP 0x0000008E
Crash4: STOP 0x0000007E

If theres any other info I can give please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

perhaps you could reflect a bit on why my new computer runs sc2 worse than my old comp? it's really strange, because most games run a lot better...

I ran some diagnostics with performancetest on both computers. So the new computer runs better on everything except memory read/write speeds and disk read/write speeds, and 2D graphics. But are these important for sc2? I couldn't imagine why...

I also thought maybe it was a temperature problem. Looks like the high temps are "tmpin2" also known as "power/aux temperature" (different monitoring software, different names) which is at 86 degrees after boot; and the gpu core temperature runs at ~80 deg (whether gaming or not). These seem to be on the verge of being too high... but not ridiculously high. I managed to increase the gpu fan speed setting from the catalyst control panel, but it doesn't actually increase the monitored fan speed (arg wtf). none of this, of course, explains why the new comp does run most games (except sc2) better.

so, at this point I'm at a loss as to what's the next thing to check, or the best path to upgrade. your thoughts?

Hey, I just installed W7 on my cousins computer and everything is perfect except for sound. Windows installed the drivers by itself but no sound was being played, so I did it myself and the same thing is occuring. It is set as the default playback device, and when I play anything with sound I can see the level picking up sound, but any headset,headphones,speakers I plug in.. I can't hear anything. Any suggestions?

Eh quick question that is probably not relevant
-CPU is at 50% > constantly even when completely idle
-Process called NT Kernel & System
-Reformatted but problem still there
-Doesn't cause any performance issues or overheating (to my knowledge) but i don't know how to fix it.
