. Seriously though facebook is dumb for asking people out. You can't say a girl is cute or anything because everyone can read that and all the other girls will be like " oh he's mac'ing on that girl so he's not available" hella lame. Grow some balls and be like "im going to such and such. Want to come with me?". Or listen in on her conversation and if shes going somewhere interesting (bar, club , movies whatever you like) be like "wheres my invite".

as immature as i sounded, that's still pretty harsh towards a member whos been here for like 6 years.

i used the same method and that's how i got her on facebook in the first place..

we work together. i didn't know her at all and i could have easily been shy and introverted and never tried to have any contact with her outside of work ... but i confidently and in a joking way got her to give me her facebook and she did so pretty easily/happily too. (so don't you think i'm at least smooth enough in real life to not seem like an idiot and interest her enough to have a connection outside of work =\ )

i have never asked her out in real life nor on facebook. i really dont see where you guys are getting that part from. i only made this thread as a fail because the joke fell over pretty hard and she didnt seem like she was buying it.

and honestly.. the main reason why i even said something stupid was not because i'm like generally nervous but because i haven't worked with her for 2 weeks and when i finally had the chance to have a talk with her, i took it even if it was through facebook. so a rush of excitement pushed through me i guess and that's what happened.

and just another note.

i used the same math question to equal my phone number and it helped break the ice between me and another girl in grade 10 math class.

she laughed her ass off and now we are mutual friends. there was no way i could get with her but at least i wasn't a dreamer and i was socially active.

I dated a girl last summer who once said she was going to stop wearing makeup because she was so tired of random nerds asking her out on facebook and texts. Its a good thing fb chat didn't exist when I was in high school because I would have done this all the time.

talking to a girl on fb for the first time seems like quite an unmanly act. its like hiding behind a veil and talking. but since you had the option of asking her face up, i don't know why you decided to do otherwise, which was obviously a bad decision. the best thing now is probably to just pick yourself up and live out again. don't get too caught up with such things.

anyways flirting on facebook is always fail cause u never know what they are looking at and the distractions the other side has ~_~. you make be all up on her while shes browsing some dudes photos while chatting with you aha =D

btw saying that you used that math thing and now youre mutual friends with a girl doesnt help the cause! you have a crush on the new girl you dont want the same effects right ^_^. So how do you necessarily fix this thing and still be friends? Well im not sure if you want to be friends or its purely a crush in hopes of a relationship. If its the former than its easy and just continue talking with her and if shes around work its really easy to just ask her to hang out and stuff. Once she says yeah just ask for her number so you can meet up. If its the latter than you do nothing like mentioning the fail facebook chat =D. Basically you just gotta keep it cool and see if she continues to talk to you or not when you see each other. if she continues to talk to you than just keep it simple, imo as long as u just try on one girl its a lot easier to keep it simple and others usually get this shit wrong. Ask her out but with more intent on being alone instead of groups if you feel that its the right time to do so =D. By asking i mean a date of course so she can see the difference in you and other guys (hopefully that difference will be dating potential).

but in hindsight shes really chatty and around many people sooo is it worth the investment =o
