Yesterday I turn on the TV and there's this movie on, and the schedule says it's about to end in 20 minutes.
It's a hidden premier so there's no title of the movie. I watched it for a bit, then it ended and I kinda liked the vibe of it so I want to watch the whole movie. But I don't know the title............... Here's what I picked up in the short time I watched.
I'd say it's an early-mid 90's movie. It's about a black family that lives in a house near some river/lake; the family has 3 children. One child is 20+ and if I understood correctly suffered some head injury some years ago and is now basically retarded - I believe the character is called Natty.
The other 'child' is a grown woman who moved away from home and then comes back for some reason. There's also this white character who is constantly around this black woman, I think the woman kidnapped this guy or something. (the subtitles of the movie got fucked up near the end so it confused me even more) The third child is a kid of about 7-8 years old.
There's also a character called Big.
One scene of the movie is where Natty, the retarded guy, wakes up in the middle of the night and goes swimming in the lake. The kid notices him getting up and decides to follow him. Natty starts swimming and the kid yells "what are you doing??" Natty doesn't speak well, so he goes out of the water, grabs the kid and moves back to the water, probably wanting to show the kid how to swimm. The kid says "I can't swim!" but Natty doesn't understand. Then the 3rd character, Big, who is for some reason also on the shore in the middle of the night, sees everything and jumps to rescue the little guy, which he does. Then the little guy gets pissed at Natty and throws a piece of wooden board at Natty. Natty then throws it back and hits the little kid in the head and he falls.
EDIT: One of the final scenes is a police officer coming to the house to question the white guy. The police officer thought the white guy was kidnapped, but the white guy said that this family are his friends and that he's visiting them (I think he's covering up for the black girl).
I hope this is enough for someone to recognize it....

never heard of that movie. But trailer looks sweet. And since there's sooo much time till MSL finals start, I definitly squeeze in this movie. Doesn't really fit in with the catching up of the D9D's that I missed, but what ever
