oh man thanks for the idea i was kinda bored today downloading it right now

or that one noise that the kid keeps making:
"give to him... what what what" or something (check 1:22 for example)
The most impressive thing about this game was that it was coded in assembly :X

Ahh its not too hard down to track this down as an ISO or whatever.
It's really fun, my roomate and I played not too long ago trying to do the campaign and see who could do it better. I get so frustrated trying to make the damn exits and endings for the roller coasters to work, or the proper heights.
GL HF!! And remember, charge more admission at the washrooms than you do for park entry.
(god damn that kid haunts me dreams)

Oh man, this game. I think I've still got the CD lying around somewhere. I never did get the hang of designing workable roller coasters though. Most frustrating thing about the game, imo. It seems kinda weird now, but one of my favorite things to do in this game was to charge absolutely ridiculous prices for food and drinks. It just gave me some kind of perverse pleasure as a kid. =/
Was this the game where the pathing screwed up if you paved a large square area? Because I seem to remember something like that.

I LOVED this game! It was also hilarious to build coasters that were obviously going to crash.. the sleds were the best. Pretty mean, I know.
I remember in like 7th grade we had a huge snow storm and got out of school for a week or two. I spent the entire time playing Rollercoaster Tycoon and watching Space Jam. Fun times!

ahhh yes, i remember this game, i was never good at it, i kept killing people and my coaster placing was terrible. but looking back, i really miss those tycoon days. moon tycoon anyone?
Wow why cant my windows 98 handle the game,

MAN what I would do is bottle neck everyone into one area with a food and drink stand and 1 bathroom. Then I would close them all in this little square and make a wall in front of the bathroom, just blocking the door. I would literally do this over and over for hours laughing maniacally.

!!!! for the realest.
Man, to the guy who liked charging lots of money for my food and dinks, I did the same thing. WHAT IS IT ABOUT KIDS!?
Maybe to us at the time sweets seemed to cost so much, so it was some kind of revenge....

Buildings unfinished roller coaster and opening to the visitors and watching them scream into oblivion was the best part of the game!

Best version of RCT, I tried the others but it just doesnt play as well as the original.

Awesome game. My sister and I used to play this a lot when we were younger. I remember my theme park on dynamite dunes was absolutely epic. I made tons of custom rides, organized everything perfectly, had tons and tons of guests (like fully saturated), and had tons of income. I hired like the maximum employees for all sections, bought up all the land. It was essentially a mega park that was truly a sight to behold. =]
good times

I still play RCT2 on my laptop i got it from school :F

WOW i actually just went download this last week and played it for pure nostalgia
The horrible thing is when i went and tried to build a roller coaster, i seemed to have lost the flair i once had with it
All my designs were complete and utter crap ... i was not satisfied at all *sigh*
I've stopped now realizing how much creativity I've lost compared to when i was little
It was so sad =(

Holy crap I just a few weeks ago found the CD to this, and finished beating EVERY park a few days ago. I didn't know beating the game unlocked a secret Mega-Park level :o
I used to play that one level Micro park or something, and build massive multi-level parks with like 10 Roller coasters all in that tiny space, all going underground and interlocking with each other and floating merry-go-rounds and stuff. You had to build from the top down if you were making that kind of park and I remember getting so good at it lol
When I played it recently though I realized how stupidly easy the game is. Some stages I would get the victory conditions in like 3 months then have to wait the rest of the 4 years (no fast forward button FFUUU). I'd let it run while I ate dinner or something and come back with hundreds of thousands of dollars and usually like half the roller coasters crashed for some B.S. reason then I would just spam rides to get park rating up again... good times.

So true, I remember wanting to beat every scenario (including the two expansion packs) but after thinking for about two minutes about how long that would take I stopped playing the game entirely .

this game changed my life

Haha, I remember I was so addicted to this game that I'd play the first 10 or so levels repeatedly until I could max out (to my ability) my population and rating (rating would always be maxed). I'd take a screenshot of my population being 2000+, maxed on rating, and $100k+ in the bank (all loans paid) and my friend saying that I faked the screenshot or used a 3rd party program.
