I'm still searching for things to get involved with for this upcoming summer and avoid just goofing off at home.
I applied to a service program that I got waitlisted at and I'll be hearing back from a research program in late May. I knew my chances of getting into the service program were slim-to-none -I didn't have any prior volunteer experience, but hopefully my handful of science and academic achievements will get me into the research program. I also applied to another summer engineering program where high school students take introductory college classes, but my transcript is not going to get there on time -my application probably won't even be considered in that case.
That leaves me with taking classes at my local community college as a backup. I'm pretty intent on taking Statistics, but the only other courses that are really open to me at this point are C++ and Biology. I'm pretty sure that the C++ course will be a breeze (already been through AP Computer Science), but Biology will be a significant challenge. In this case, should I take the easier class or the harder one?
