I don't hate it. I don't love it.
StarCraft. Everything I did had a point to it. I knew what to do for everything. Zerg vs Protoss, I had a solid build in mind that I could adapt to anything the Protoss does. Standard? I go standard. Some early speedlot push? Get units. Likewise with other matchups. Everything was intuitive and I could know what to do.
Not with SC2. It's likely because I haven't played enough but I have no clue what to do. I recently lost a ZvZ where I gained a midgame advantage and lost to a superior force for some reason, even though our production was similar. Lost a ZvT because I was going lings to counter Thors and forgot that Hellions would own lings. This'll probably go away once I get understanding the game a bit more but it irks me.
Also, CHEESE IS BORING IN SC2. There's nothing I can do because everyone else is experimenting so my opponents are ready for anything I throw at them. In Brood War, I always did fun things with early speedlots in PvT. Also, all-in vultures or Zerglings against Protoss was also fun. My opponents had a set strategy against standard play and by going completely ridiculous, I could just beat him. THAT was fun (Also, completely owning a Protoss with a 200/200 3/3 mech army was good too). Just can't do that with SC2.
Now, these two issues could go away with experience, but for me, SC2 just doesn't have the same magic as Brood War. I'll probably still play it quite often, but I plan to mostly stick with Brood War. Unless it somehow fixes itself (And yes, I agree with some of the topics in the StarCraft 2 thread, like "Oh Micro, Where Art Thou?" and the thread talking about the Evil Trinity).
Just my own thoughts.
Edit: And I miss my ultraling, my 200/200 3/3 tank/vulture/goliath army and my speedlot rushes.

Yea i also noticed something along the similar lines but it is pretty hard to make SC2 just as good as SC1. The feeling isnt the same as BW but i dont hate it and plus Galaxy editor is going to kick so much ass so i dont care much about ladder now.

Since I map, I was amped up about Galaxy editor, but it's so buggy right now that I just stopped after my first try. Sticking to Brood War mapping for now.

Some of those things will go away once the metagame settles down, and a true standard build for each race emerges.

there's hardly any guarantee that will ever happen you know

This is pretty much the worst reason to not love SC2. Obviously you have no clue what to do in SC2 because you haven't played enough. Do you really expect a player new to BW would be able to figure it all out by himself in 2 months? That is, without the years of knowledge built up by the community to rely on.
If you are uncomfortable exploring a game on your own, then keep playing BW and switch to SC2 in a few years. Liquipedia II should be filled up by then.

I think a lot of people who are just starting SC2 aren't enjoying it quite as much.
My theory is that in BW, most people pretty much always knew they were doing, and it was fun because you had a plan and you executed it and you felt BA when it worked. In SC2, since it is new, you feel kinda lost and it just feels weird playing. All the timings are different, you don't really have an endgame plan, and it feels like you got lucky when you win.
That is actually very similar to how I felt when I started playing BW(I remember because it wasn't that long ago) but that goes away pretty fast if you keep at it.
Also, cheese should be boring. Cheese is stupid and I hate it. Don't ever do it.
