I'm writing this blog mostly because of a girl . But I've been in these crazy mood swings, heading down for the most part lately, because after getting along really well, she told me we have to be friends (this is a long story). So after talking to her on the phone for about an hour or two a night for two months, she told me that... We never officially said we were dating but it feels like a breakup  I'm trying to keep things as normal as possible by calling her every night and stuff because she even told me it was weird if I didn't, but the conversations are short and mundane. Anyway, I haven't been feeling very good because of this and just called her telling her how I felt about our relationship and situation and stuff and she had nothing to say except that I was thinking too much. I can't get over this though for some reason, at least I'm going to college this year. Maybe I can meet another girl, but it's hard for me to believe that I can just stop thinking about her... Sorry for ranting, but it's just so weird for me to think about how much I think has changed over the past week about us.
I find it really amazing too about how emotions are tangible at least to oneself. When you feel good, your chest feels relaxed and airy but when you're jealous or angry or even disappointed, your heart feels heavy and hurts. The human body is amazing

I'm sure you'll be able to meet a new girl in college, one that's just right for you. High school relationships aren't the ones that are meant to last anyway, right?^^

1) She was NEVER interested in anything else in the first place
2) This is just a high school crush/infatuation, nothing more than that. Feels like shit now but you'll LOL at yourself in a few years when you actually do have something real.

Bolded part - Nope, she wasn't. She may have thought she might be, but she wasn't really. Most women have no clue what they want, especially teenage females. Hell, you don't know what you want either if you're hanging onto this.
Don't get me wrong btw, not trying to diminish what you think you had. Just saying, you'll look back on it with fondess and think how naive you were someday. All I'm saying is, it's no big deal... take the experience for what it was, remember the fun stuff, and move on.

But in all seriousness I've always felt that it's a better approach than commiserating with others and wallowing in self-pity. That just leads to regret, which is exactly NOT what he should be trying to feel right now. He should remember it for the good moments, and move along.

Also I'm not sure of EvilTeletubys true age but if he says he's an old man he's probably seen it all before. Meaning he's probably right. I'm in college right now so I don't have much more experience then you, but for the most part women come and women go.

Maybe the reason I like her so much is because I don't want to be like other people I know who date so casually and just are in a mess with everything.
Btw, I remember her talking about how serious she takes relationships and stuff, and then ironically we sort of drifted apart.

i'm in almost the exact same situation as you are man
there's a girl that i met in high school and like a lot. we had the same homeroom senior year and had some awesome conversations. whenever one of us wanted to go to, say, the computer lab, the other would follow suit. we eventually stopped doing that and did our own things as the year progressed, but we would still talk a lot. i remember towards the end of the year, she said i should transfer to some university near the one she was going to attend so that i could be closer to her, and i joked about how she's gonna make numerous new friends and forget all about me, haha
well, both of us are in college right now, but she's in California, while i'm stuck here in little, old South Carolina. we still talk on Skype, and i periodically draw cartoon strips revolving around her and her imaginary pet panda (she loves pandas and everything else Asian), and she enjoys it. thing is, i don't know if she actually likes me as much as i like her, and i don't want to ask her online cuz that would be awkward. i guess i'll have to wait til the summer where we will be returning to our hometown; we might hang out with some old friends of ours. if she doesn't really like me, i'll just shrug it off, and we can remain friends. it's not like i need to look for a girl immediately.

Since when did I say anything about casual dating? Just because a little high school thing didn't work out for you doesn't automatically turn you into a wannabe player or something, or prevent you from persuing something more meaninful, why would you think that?? If anything, it just gave you additional experience and helps you grow as a person, and helps you better understand what you're looking for.

ETT's points are pretty good. Alsoif you were just talking to her on the phone for a few months, thats probably a part of why you became just a friend. You acted more towards her like a good friend would, than someone who wants a relationship. Once a girl starts liking you as a friend she won't go out with you, even if she feels some attraction, because doing so has a good chance of ruining the friendship and the good things that come with it.

I think you should just be sad and depressed if that's what you feel like doing. Sadness should be treated with the same respect as any other emotion.

I do not speak with experience, but maybe one day in the future, she will look back at what she had with you and appreciate it. Maybe after meeting other guys who aren't the same and spend so much time for her, she will value what she had and then come back. In that case, just let things go and if it's destined to be then in the future things will work out. Try not to rush or expect too much and just focus on studies.

I'm not even sure if she wants to be friends, it's sort of difficult to act as if nothing has happened over the past couple of months. I might be crazy but it's like she doesn't feel like talking to me anymore. I remember her telling me things like, "Will you keep in contact when we go to college?", and "It's weird when you don't call me". The former is easy, I can do that every once in a while, but I don't know what to do now. Should I really just cut off contact with her? I figure that'd be weird because we still see each other at church and stuff...
And thanks for that seminar, listening to it now
