yes, i meant the anti-malware
even if it goes away apparently be sure to run the full scan and /afk for a bit, and dont re connect to the interweb until a full scan has been completed
dont forget to update it too before u scan

tell those "friends" they owe you a new computer if this doesn't end up fixing it :o

tell them they owe u a new computer anyways

This is why you never befriend real 4 chaners in Real life. Just use them to destroy people you already know and hate. I hope your computer gets fixed...seems like you'll get through it though.

People already said it in the thread, but its most likely all you really need. If the problem persists ask the forum members on malwarebytes, they're a lot more tech savvy and the mods post and help with problems quite a bit.
Get a usb drive
Put malware bytes and spybot S&D on it.
Boot in safe mode with networking
Install and update both malwarebytes and spybot S&D
Run both, delete anything bad.
Restart again in safemode (without networking), rescan.
If everythings fine, you should be able to just boot up normally.

i don't get why everyone is suggesting virus/adware removal. I worked in IT for an architecture company one summer and I've been working at my school's ITS for a long time now.
REINSTALL THE OS.
sluggish? ghost it.
pop-ups? ghost it.
anything non-hardware related that would take any time to figure out? ghost it.
edit: back up your stuff first.
then REINSTALL YOUR OS!

because in theory u could back up a virus or spyware that would lead to the same issue after you reformat time to back up+ reformat > time to run 2 scans
