Mech against Z for better PvT?

I have been playing for about three months or so
When i decided to start playing competevly i decided to go for terran because i didn´t like the way Protoss looked and the whole larva thing seemed to bee very difficult so i tryed my luck with terran.
I started out playing around with different matchups (getting d-) and as every young terran i got Dt rushed, reaverdropped. or just got straight up killed by goons.
Because i was so frustrated with pvt i concentraded heavily on Tvz. I realy realy like this matchup.I started playing the 1rax into Fe build into SK Terran because Irriatiating shit all over the place is like the most satisfying thing ever in Starcraft.I played this my whole first season and reached D.
In the next season i further practiced this build particulary on Destination just because i like the map.
When i watched some proleague i saw the map Match Point and instantly wanted to play it.I did with my 1rax fe and adjusted my build to having more tanks rather than science vessels.At the end of the season i was very satisfied because of how my play had improved and because i hit D+.
This season i want to improve on my TvP.
I thought since mech is relativly easy to pull of (on my skill level) against Zerg. So i figured i just played a few mech games against Zerg so i can learn how to Macro properly with mech (Marine is a very different timing^^)
any thoughts?

To improve your TvP why you don't try to play TvP ?

Just make D- only games.
fuck all those elitists brb watching streams of elite players.

Mech against Zerg is different from TvP.

The similarities:
You make Goliaths/Tanks more than Vultures/Tanks to fend off the Muta/Hydra
Pushing has the same concept - proper management of sieging and unsieging is key, while not overextending yourself.

Unit combination is also similar; just whether you have more tanks or goliaths, but that depends on the zerg's unit composition.

Differences:
Timing is everything. The timing for a TvP siege expand is different from armory/expansion timing and subsequent muta harass.

Zerg will have far more expansions than a Protoss will have, because of the huge amounts of map control a zerg has early-mid game due to it being able to throw masses of units at you; you can't move out until you have critical mass, unlike TvP where Terran can sit until Protoss tries to get his third.

You will be operating off two base rather than three most of the time; many Terrans go Flash build in TvP, which involves early upgrades and camping and taking an early third. Zerg, on the other hand, can deny your third for much longer until you have a good position and enough units to secure it. Destination is one such map that is easier for a Terran to grab his third, the island expo where you can just siege two to three tanks overlooking the bridge.

Mech v Z is more unstable than TvP in that aspect; and if both sides trade forces in TvP and TvZ, the zerg will reinforce far faster than a Protoss would, which effectively snowballs and ultimately leads to the Terran's demise because of the limitations of two base versus five base.

Mech is an easier way to play TvZ, but it cannot be used as a substitute for TvP training (lack of vultures is one key factor)

To learn TvP, you have to play TvP:

Play safe first, you wanna get past the stage where cheesy Protosses guarantee you lose. Use siege expand and follow up with an Ebay after your first tank spawns and second tank is queued up.

If you scout 2 gate nexus, safe to say he won't go DT drop or reaver drop. If he goes 1 gate core, he will either follow up with Nexus or either one of the two drops, in which case you place a turret perimeter around your base.

Always have a turret at the choke of your natural where it is covered well by tanks, in case he sneaks DTs into your base.

Once you're past that stage, then you learn how to react to scouting information more. (I.E. how many pylons he has in his base, what tech path is he going and how you can cut corners to keep up with him, etc).

Destination is really good for TvP, so enjoy (:
