About 5 years ago, Brood War was introduced to quite possibly the greatest player of all time. Arguably the greatest player of all time, a young zerg player known as IPXZerg, better known as Savior, came storming onto the scene. Before his time, zergs had experienced limited success in individual leagues. Sure, GoRush was the Golf King, and July won two OSLs at the time, but that was the extent of zerg success in Starleagues. The Storm Zerg Yellow had come oh so close many times, only to fall in the finals.
In the UZOO MSL, Savior began barreling his way through the field, crushing the likes of Chojja and Reach on his way to his first Starleague title. Despite a minor setback in the following MSL in which he lost to Chojja in the finals, Savior made 2006 his year of dominance. Savior would head on to win both Pringles MSLs in 2006.
The guy was indisputably the BEST player of the time. His ZvP win rate was some ridiculous number, over 75% against the top competition of the time. No Protosses could touch him, whether it be Pusan, Reach, Kingdom, or rA. People even began comparing him to Hitler, drawing comparisons between the way they both crushed their opponents. Some fans would even become tired of seeing him win all the time. The man was simply unstoppable at the time.
Fresh off his Pringles Season 2 MSL victory, Savior set his sights on the GOMTV MSL as well as the ShinBank Season 3 OSL. Ironically, while Savior was destroying the MSL left and right, he had issues making it through qualifiers for the OSL. However, he finally made it through and had his eyes set on joining Nada as the only gamer ever to have won both the MSL and the OSL at the same time.
The month of February would see Savior play some of his most memorable games (most notably against Iris in OSL Semis). After dispatching Hwasin and Iris in the MSL and OSL Semis, Savior looked to be in a great spot to win to win both titles against the newcomer Bisu and the legendary Nada. People viewed Nada as his biggest hurdle in that challenge, as his ZvT had shown some signs of weakness in his semifinal matches. However, Savior would go on to dispatch Nada rather easily, securing his first OSL and also walking the Royal Road.
A week later pitted Savior against the newcomer Bisu in the GOMTV MSL finals. Boasting a 75% win rate against Protoss up until that point, many foresaw an easy 3-0 victory for Savior against some random newbie who just rose onto the scene. In fact, let's take a look at Liquibets for Bisu's semifinal and final matches against rA and Savior.
Pretty lopsided ehh?
Anyways, the rest is history. Game 1 featured Bisu raping with DTs.
Game 2 also featured Bisu raping with DTs.
Guess what happened in Game 3?
Yep, that's right. Three games of Sair/DT would lead to the dethroning of the Maestro, as he made way for the Revolutionist. That day, the Maestro died, and the Revolutionist was born.
In one of the most lopsided Starleague finals ever, Bisu gave hope to the Protoss race and shall forever be remembered in Protoss player's hearts. Eventually Bisu would go onto win 2 more MSLs, dispatching Stork in a pretty epic Bo5 series (Will be later).
For those Bisu fans: Don't give up hope! Kim Taek Yong shall forever be known as the Revolutionist, and arguably the best Protoss player of all time. His mojo might be slightly gone, but he's still got what it takes to go far.
Without further ado, here are Youtube links as well as uploaded videos for each game so you can forever remember the day of the Revolution.
I don't think he predicted a comeback, since that seems pretty off right about now. He certainly does have what it takes to get to a finals as long as he doesn't meet jaedong/flash along the way. I really doubt he would have any chance at all beating either of those in a Bo# nevermind a Bo3. His recent games have been looking better, but he has still been off of his game for such a long time now. Every game I have watched of him I see him lose in such a sigh inducing fashion.
I hope he can turn his game back to his former level, but I wouldn't put 1c on it :/
bisu will win this MSL. or come so close only to break our hearts at the last second. either way, theres no way he's out of it yet. he still occasionally shows games that simply stuns me (just not nearly as often).
I hope Bisu is able to come back from his mini-slump thing, seeing him knocked out of OSL after OSL is pretty disheartening. I think it has something to do with his hair color.
Oh the memories, remember discussing the finals with Whistler trying to convince him Bisu had a shot at winning since all he needed was to win 1 of the 3 first sets and then get a free win in the 4th on that Island map I can`t remember the name of and then take home the 5th. Also think I was one of those 116 brave souls who Liquibeted on him
Been a fan of him ever since he raped the shit out of Chojja during his first OSL (who was considered one of the very best ZvP players during those days), and will stay a fan forever.
Expecting him to take home the MSL and do what no one have done before securing his 4th title. Who needs an OSL when you got 4 MSL right?

I think he's not really able to channel his inner Super Saiyan or something. Nice post though Roffles, it was a good read.

Wasn't it longer? I remember someone I played with in like 2004-5 was named ipxzerg (not the real one obviously lol).... so I'd think he'd been around since a little before that at the least.
