I would prefer the following: Around Ear Affordable Reliable Mic High Bass With High sound Quality much like Insignia Computer speaker package. Just Post your suggestions here with a link ^_^ Oh yeah did i mention affordable? that means no $49.99+ please. I'm on a budget. some exceptions may apply THANKS A BUNCH FOR YOUR HELP! <3 When i say High Sound quality i mean exceptionally better than others for the price. I.E some Platetronics headsets have good reviews

Sennheiser 350. Do they even sell them? Either way its the best headset by far I've ever had without breaking the bank.

He said no 49.99 so why would he be able to get a 200+ one?

if you actually want HIGH quality sound don't get gaming headsets with a mic, most are garbage and are a complete waste of money (few exceptions)
i would recommend getting a mic and headset seperately
sennheiser hd202 really amazing sound for its price

I would just like to barge in and announce that my new Koss PortaPros have arrived today!

A time-tested 20+ year old design with adjustments for moving the pressure from the ears to the pads above the ears, good bass, above-average midrange and tinnies, and amazing soundstaging. These babies will enhance any song you listen to - it's almost a whole new experience listening with the open-ear 3D feel. Drums have their acoustic space, the guitar is on its own dimension, bass reverberates underneath all of it, and vocals float in their own localized placements. You can get these for like 30 bucks on Amazon! If I were you, I'd just get those and tape a mic like this to my chest.

i don't know much about mics but im currently using a $10 desktop mic and it sounds fine

So basically what u guys are saying is dont get a head set. Get headphones over the ear with a mic on the chest.
|
Yeah I'd go with them individually. You can get decent headphones/microphones pretty cheap that way.
|
I would get them together, as long as the mic is retractable and such. I had an older version of this like a year ago. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826158082
Worked fine, mic was good enough(perfectly clear and understandable), and sound quality was good too. Lifetime warranty and free shipping is pretty sweet as well. I've upgraded to steelseries for the looks since I can't really tell the difference in sound between a $40 headset and a $100.

OP is true, I generally end up yelling at/hanging up on him. His freaking music and game sounds are so annoying that I never want him on our skype conversation. All help towards this goal is greatly appreciated!

QFT for the mic. It was like $10 at NCIX. just clip it on and sounds great.
For headphones, I'm using Audiotechnica ad700. They're open air, so ppl may be able to hear what ur listening to if it's loud, but you can usually hear people extremely clearly. Also, it lets your ears cool down, so it doesn't get hot. Super comfortable as they are my primary sound devices. They're on my head everytime I'm sitting at the computer, which is like 8 hours a day.
(I got my headphones for $80 a while ago on amazon.) I think it's worth it for that little bit of extra comfort.

Title should have been Buying Head[set]. 1/5 for misleading.

I don't know if the one I got is defective, but it randomly adds a ton of static and crackle. Works great half the time; sounds like shit the other half. I thought there might be some interference, but whether it works doesn't seem to depend on where I position it.
