While it isn't particularly great at starcraft (thankfully I have a salmosa as well) I have grown accustomed to using it in pretty much every other game I play mainly due to the extra buttons. Lately this mouse has become a complete train wreck on my windows 7 desktop and I am really running out of ideas as to how to fix it.
The problems began when I logged on one day and for reasons at that time unknown it would not track in the horizontal direction, at all. After discovering this I instantly thought it was a hardware based problem. In an attempt to double check my fears I tested the mouse in my friend's windows xp box. Much to my surprise it worked absolutely perfectly. To further verify I tested it on several other computers and it worked universally on all the boxes I tested. I even made sure to test it over several operating systems which included even my father's mac laptop.
This is when I started looking for a software related problem on my computer. At around this time I also contacted Razer support. They directed me through the usual checks (trying different usb ports, etc) and together we made no progress towards fixing the mouse. They finally suggested that I reinstall my drivers. Simple enough I thought, I pull up an uninstall dialogue for the mouse software and that is where I was greeted by this friendly error:
At this point I am very certain that something is horribly, horribly screwed up with the drivers/software. Razer support's messages shortly after stopped (no idea why) and I have pretty much just been googling random solutions to this error ever since. Nothing I have tried has stopped it. I really am running out of options short of reinstalling my operating system entirely which seems completely ridiculous.
Anyways, any help of any kind would be greatly appreciated from anyone.
