Anyone have any experience with these things? I saw an ad for one in the OCweekly ( a local periodical/news mag around here).
+ Show Spoiler +
hey this is the one from the ad http://www.testmarketpromos.com/join.php
says take surverys and make 5-75$ to share opinions in surveys and online focus groups.

I figured that I could try to do these in the downtime at work since I'm always just bored fucking up these forums instead.

I could REALLY use the extra cash as well.

So does anyone know of a legit place to do these or the best paying ones or whatever advice having to do with the topic?

..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

Anyone else have experience with this? If it's legit I'd love to do this. I don't have a job right now and I have plenty of free time.

The best one by far is http://www.pineconeresearch.com/. It gives you 5 dollars per survey in a check and the surveys get some what frequent over time. Tricky part is finding the banner to signup.

Mechanical Turk is legit, I've used it on a few projects where I needed data tagged. Not sure how much you can make if it is all you are doing. My impression was that it was mostly people with call center jobs and stuff like that. Also I think the money you earn can only be used on Amazon.
It's supposed to be automatic but actually you have to press this button.

They are all legal, they work by you being redirected and spammed with ads.

KGB Is a legit online job similar to these survey jobs you're looking for. My brother does it so I know it's not a scam. You basically go through like 6 hour video training to operate the software and answer questions sent to the website. You get a certain amount of money per question that you answer. I think it's $0.10 per question.

The questions are basically all answered on google. My brother would show me questions people ask like: "Where can you find paint in Lowes?" And he gets $0.10 to tell the guy paint is found in the paint section, lol.

Also stupid stuff like drunk people asking "why is my girlfriend mad" and you get credit for asking the guy to elaborate and give you more information, haha.

So yea, if you have an office job with lots of downtime you could try and do this for extra money. You have to sign up for blocks of time, like 2-3 hours as a "shift". So I don't know how much free time you have to be able to do this.

Actually i've been checking out that Cashcrate.com site and so far i've apparently made $2.35, with $6.00 pending. I mean, theres no reason NOT to give your information to the site (Just address and phone number) because if they spam you just have mail from them blocked at the post office.

I used to do a bunch of those survey sites where it was like $1-$2 for a 10-15 minute survey. I remember Lightspeed Panel is legit. I also got payments from doing surveys for esearch. I was also part of another one but I forgot its name. Anyways, there are definitely legit survey websites, you just have to find them.

But always remember, if you think it's too good to be true, it probably is.

But the way I'm making some extra money right now is just use swagbucks.com as my search engine and just redeem $5 amazon.com gift cards. I've so far received $30 worth of amazon gift cards.

Basically you just use their search engine (combination of google and ask) and you'll randomly earn credits that you can use towards items (like gift cards). There are also special codes you can apply to get free credits (I just check the slickdeals thread http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1291711 for the codes)

Anyways if you want to sign up, PM me so you can become my referral screw it here's my referral link + Show Spoiler +
http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/formuladc help me out ^^

I average a $5 gift card every half month with normal searching habits and getting as many free codes in as I can

I feel like those survey things have to be BS. I mean... why would they pay you for taking surveys, especially when they know the data likely won't be reliable because you are going to speed through it. Unless they don't care about accuracy I guess.

i dunno if I trust that site:
from the first link
Founded in 1992, kgb (www.kgb.com) is a privately held, New York-based company and the world’s largest independent provider of directory assistance and enhanced information services.

and from the second
Since its creation in 1993, kgb has grown into a global company, with businesses and customers around the world.

yea that's what I always thought, that's why I'm asking here. I guess people actually received paychecks so it's real.

But I am wary of giving out my social security number etc, (because don't you have to do a tax thing?)

I do think the kgb one listed above is legit. I've seen them advertise on tv. Also, chacha is a similar service where you get some small amount for each response and you just look stuff up on google.
