Notes:

I noticed recently that a lot of the blogs are pretty negative. Although these kinds of subjects do promote some healthy (and not so healthy) discussion between TL members - during this period of cruddy weather and ill health I wanted to make a totally positive blog.

So in the spirit of IMMD I was wondering what things made peoples' days recently? Despite some epic neck pain (I can barely move my head and coughing hurts so much), for me it was the following today;

~ I got a new student. His name is 이한 (L)ee han. Every time someone says his name I have to bite back the urge to yell 'timing!'

~ One of my students was discussing Power Rangers Engine Force (what Go-onger is known as here in Korea.) with me. I asked him which ranger I am.

He said 'The orange one!' There's no orange one so I assumed he meant 'Gold.' That means he thinks I look like this;

[image loading]

(I am okay with this because Hidenori Tokuyama is a fine piece of man.)

~ I wanted to make chocolates with my Mum when she comes to stay in April and for Valentines Day the gift shop I frequent restocked with supplies including the exact metal tempering bowl I need

I was made blue AND I thought of some cool ways to analyze data from last year's winner's league for proleague coverage.

I also took an amazing nap sitting on the couch while looking at the frozen lake.

Edible I hope?

Winter in Ireland this year is amazing. There was quite some snow laying around few weeks ago (which never happens) and now there is a lot of sun with little rain (also almost never happens ). So I guess that`s one of the good reasons to keep positive.

I went to get breakfast in sunny San Diego with my friend and his gf.

We played a little game to see who had to pay the bill, and of course, I lost as usual.

I put an 100$ bill into the check. for our 61$ bill.

The waitress brought the check back and said thank you very much and I thanked her in return.

I opened up the change and to my surprise there was only 29$ change instead of 39$.

I immediately called her back as she was walking around and said to her in a very disgruntled tone "uhhh you know giving the wrong amount of change isn't the best way to get a tip."

She profusely apologized and I cut her off and said "hurry just bring 10 more, we gotta go."

She came back and gave the 10$ with puppy dog eyes which I purposely avoided to make her think I was pissed off then she walked away.

I then left the entire 39$ as a tip and we left before she came back to claim her tip.

Who knows if it made her day or not...but my best bet is it did. Didn't exactly make my day, though it wasn't a bad start.

I went to this band night in a pub yesterday. My bro's school organized it for all their students to perform 3 or 4 songs. The theme was Rock but there weren't that many band that actually had some balls. I got particularly annoyed at a guitarist who, while tuning, tried to get some laughs from the crowd by playing random Maiden and Slayer riffs but then did a shitty performance. Some bands were ok good, but overall it was meh. The last band opened up with a Ska-version verse of Muse's Hysteria before kickin in the real thing. For the solo the guitarist threw his guitar over his head and played it quite perfectly with his axe in his neck. This all whille keeping his hat on. IMMD

Luxembourg was totally awesome, and while I was there I regained the awesome feeling I had a couple weeks ago just after I landed in Europe and started walking around Paris.

Yesterday I was on the metro, and a random girl with a large suitcase came up to me and asked for directions. She asked me in french whether I spoke english just like I ask people all the time here: badly. Yes! I responded, I'm from New Zealand!

She was from Canada, and we got to talking. We had to part ways eventually, but she gave me her number! I don't think i'll ever ring her, because I can't afford the roaming costs and i'm not planning on staying in Brussels much longer... but it was a very nice feeling. Never got a random girl's number before.

EDIT: Nice idea for a blog

I had the most amazing dream last night.

The dream started with me being frustrated over OZ losing all the games in PL (and WL), in this specific match i watched Jaedong lost vs Anytime which caused an embarrassing 1-3 lose. I imagine OZ played vs Ace but that wasn't exactly clear in the dream. I was totally mad until someone mentioned that OZ doing so bad because they all (huh?) need to train for individual leagues.
This statement in memory I looked up the actual standing of OSL and MSL. It was really good to see a Jaedong vs Flash final in OSL (hah, no MBC to screw it up). But uh, why all OZ players when OSL and MBC is in the final stage? Well, the MSL Final is even more ridiculous awesome. No less than Killer (!) vs *drum roll* Backho (fuck yeah!) going into the most anticipated finals ever.

Even tho I have to learn all day for my exams that dream totally made my day.

I managed to finally write the last 15-20 pages + edit a bunch for my novel to get the 0.1 revision nearly ready for my readers last night. Sure, I'm like half a month behind, but at least I got it done - when I am mortally sick and in pain. I'm past the most difficult stages of the revision I believe, so I should be able to move faster now.

I have a rivalry with my friend, we pretty much win 50% of our TvPs each (I'm T) and today I won all 5 games played. Needless to say, I'm on cloud 14CC right now.

Also, great initiative, I'm getting more positive from reading this thread already.

And I gave a beer to a bum that was drinking
And I gave some sauce to my bestest friend for cooking
And I gave water to all who I thought were thirsty
That's how I learned how to survive

Cheers!

For today;

~ Successfully MC'd a kid's show for my school.
~ One of my kids told me my hotpack was 'sponge-bob.' I laughed so hard over that <3

One of my classes this is game theory and I just got back from 2 hours of playing games... for class. The prof is really cool.

Also I got a random hug from a girl in my class today, which basically made my day.
