Hi Tl, tonight I am going to tell you a story of heartbreak.
Our story begins on everyone's favorite ridge, as it is the most popular motw. On this chilly Canadian evening Wr3k was feeling adventurous and decided to play some iccup games in an attempt to go from C- to C.
Proud of his C-, and feeling confident, he felt that this was doable, and that he would at least be able to maintain his C-. Little did he know, he was in for some dairy. What looked like a night of fun slowly turned into a night of Cheesecraft.
It is unclear what happened in the chaos, but no longer a proud C-, Wr3k slowly spiraled into a state of anger and rage, he even became slightly depressed and began to keep track of his backwards progress in the form of a list.
4 bunker rushes....
6 forge blocks / cannon rushes... from 6 different protoss (in all varieties, whether it be blocking choke or behind the mineral lines)
proxy 2 gates...
A turtling hydralisk ZvZ player who began lagging so badly muta micro was impossible...
even a 2 gate pylon/zealot/sheild battery contain...
Wr3k was so discouraged he even attempted to off-race protoss to win a single game. Unfortunately the BBS was ready for him...
For some reason he trudged on through the sticky cheese, determined to win a couple games before going to sleep, very much to his dismay, he continued to lose, even while overpooling to be safe and fend off the cheese every game. Something about the anger and being tired from 8am classes had gotten to him. It was a disaster, he failed and failed, yet kept on playing...

LESSONS LEARNED:
-Don't 12 hatch too often, it results in being aggravated.
-Scout the cliffs on HBR with your second overlord more often.
-Don't keep playing when you are angry and tired, it only makes it worse.
-Stop being lazy and actually do some proper drone scouting.

that is a saddening matchlist 
if i might add to your lessons, scout with your 9th drone for the forge cheese vs p, and the opponents base vs t. dont 12hatch on 2player maps at all, and if you see a proxy gateway, cancel your natural, build it in your base, and send your 6 lings to your opponents main while sunkening your own main.

Man, my screen looks pretty damned similar to yours.
I was 13-15 (after winning around 8 straight games).
I started playing Hearbreak Ridge.
I ended at 13-25 and reset stats.
Now I'm somewhere around 1-2 or something.

On the other hand, my laddering day on everyone's favorite ridge was great, partly thanks to you. By the way, typing "..." and then ragequitting isn't very nice...

aww man, this makes me cry and laugh at the same time.

IF you find yourself on a losing streak or feel upset at a game you just played, the obvious answer is to take a break. when you go on tilt, you tend to screw things up. I'm sure you can handle cheese, but in the state of mind you were in at that time, you were just digging yourself into a hole. taking a break is key, even if it means not playing for the rest of the night or taking a week off, etc.

ouch. don't worry though.. there will be better days for you. heartbreak ridge is just sometimes.. heartbreaking.

Haha, I know you're gonna hate me for saying this, but learn to scout properly on cheesebrake ridge. 9 drone scout against t to check cliff and proxys, 10 or 11 drone scout against p to check for forge blocks. I've pwned the shit of out the cheesers recently by consistently scouting properly.
And oh, I feel your pain, I've had homicidal thoughts just losing a couple of games to p/t cheeses, what you experienced would have driven me suicidal or really fucking drunk to ease the pain :S.

I quite like ZvP on HBR because its so predictable that tosses will cheese. Cheese is basically an instant win if you learn to be paranoid at scouting. Always check your choke at ~9-10 drones, the cliff behind your nat and send an ovie to the mineral patch by the temple. That should be enough. There's no harm going overpool against protoss, because it forces them to go cannons first instead of nexus so you aren't behind.
Against terran if you drone scout early enough you can see whether or not to go pool or hat first. On ICCup its kind of important because so many people cheese.

I lol'd when I saw sodamist though, I beat him in 5 minutes with marines only.

i play zerg and I love HBR! and at least being cheesed on that map is not as annoying as playing on desti vs. a turtling mech terran.

You either have amazingly high levels of perseverance or are some sort of sadomasochist. O.O
I pretty much lose any inclination to continue playing after like three or four losses, especially if they were from cheese.

Yuck. I thought that I felt dumb after losing to a cannon rushed twice in a row this season. I feel for ya, although I don't have a clue how you actually feel.....

I was pretty annoyed last night, but right now I honestly just feel that I was playing like a dumbass, and that I should be able to fend off that crap most of the time. Doesn't really bother me now that I've slept on it, I'm just back to where I was last week . I know what I did wrong in almost every single one of those games, its just a matter of being focused and fixing it now.

ok here is the deal. My name is attackzerg. I attack because defending fucking sucks. Don't defend cheese, destory it. 9pool everygame.
Fun fact in every matchup at d/d+/c- you can 9pool not kill a unit and if you have the basic drone saturation/tech timings down you can make an economic recovery to play a macro game.
Think PedalToTheMedalZerg. Learning to attack very aggressively is good at lower levels. You work on micro+multitasking + macro while harrassing.
