Standard cabs, King cabs, regular cabs, four doors and so on. I never imagined trucks could be in so many categories. During my quest to find a vehicle I saw many nice looking cars such as the 2010 Dodge Challenger, at a base price of 39 thousand dollars. I could only imagine how much my insurance would spike. Then at a Nissan dealer I saw a 2009 GT-R for sale at the very low price of 104 thousand dollars, just a little out of my price range. Too bad.
Then Thursday happened while at a Ford dealership I was looking at cars when I made one of the dumbest mistakes while looking for a car, I told my the sales person my full name. Which was the last the fucking thing to do when you are just looking. By the end of the event I had seen a nice truck but due to my dumbass mistake they offered a 2009 F-150 for $19,900. It was a nice truck but it didn't have power locks, or windows. Besides I had ruined my entire fucking plan by revealing my name and as a result basically gave them my entire history by just letting slip my name. By the end of the day I went to a Dodge dealership where I saw the Challenger and for shits and giggles go to sit behind the wheel and just imagine. I was shown a Dodge Ram but like all trucks the gas mileage wasn't that good, and besides Rams have no resell value which was a major drawback. Besides I was looking for new not pre-owned.
I woke up today with the plan of hitting the mecca of car lots, Covington Pike where Jim Keras, and a few other dealers were right next to each other. I wandered the car lot looking at Silverado's and looked at 2 of them, one a very nice blue one which has power locks but manual windows, I got details on the vehicle and when asked about my budget I would simply refer to my area of a monthly payment "about 275 to 300 a month." It was a bald faced lie but I figured it was a nice number and I could somehow get them as close as possible to said number. After being told they could go around 403 a month I said I would check out a Ford dealership, not the same one that I went to yesterday, and see what they had to offer. As a last ditch effort the sales person said that the manger said to come back after visiting Ford and they would beat any price they had to offer.
After some breakfast at Cracker Barrel(sp?) I arrived at the Dobbs Ford dealership at Mt. Moriah. As soon as I arrived a car grabbed my attention. To get a closer look I walked between the Mustangs and said car and it's fellow models. It was a 2010, and the color was blue. No wonder it grabbed my attention but while passing I noticed the gas mileage which was 24 in the city, 34 on the highway. Very impressive. I continued walking towards the trucks, the sales person met me at the trucks and when asking about any 2009's I was told they had no 09 trucks, only 2010 models.
The guy showed me various F-150's which had 4WD, or 2WD all of them were out of my price range my entire focus was on getting a truck or some kind of vehicle as long as it was a 2009 due to it being December and dealer needed to get rid of the 2009 stock which meant lower prices. Now at this point I should have been concerned seeing as how it was almost 1 o'clock, I had to be at work at 4:30, and to add to that it Was Friday which meant the Credit Union closed at six. They would not open again till Monday. I was approved for a loan but I would not be able to cut a check during the weekend. But I wasn't worried, my thoughts were on the car I had passed when I had just arrived. I asked about the model of cars which the particular car was in and was told they were Ford Focus models, 2010. I stopped at the car that had grabbed my attention at the start and holy shit, the price was 19k with a 3k dollar rebate. It came with three different warranties, it had bluetooth, Sat radio for 6 months, and whole host of other options installed. Only option that wasn't installed was a bed liner. I had found my car. After a drive to the Credit Union to get my check and back at the lot I gave it a drive around the block, the ride was smooth as hell and the result only strengthened my opion of the car. It had cruise control, am/fm, to be honest a lot more features which I can't even remember but I'm sure google can provide the details. Add to the fact that it was my favorite color only added to my hype for the vehicle.
Two and half hours later, and around 12 pages with as many signatures of my name on the paperwork it was prepared, fully gassed, cleaned, even the bluetooth was setup so I could call/dial via voice command. I manged to grab a few pics, albeit I was late for work even though I had let my Supervisor know beforehand.
You can see my older, currently dead, car next to it's newer and IMO better replacement. I will get better photos tomorrow.
