Finally getting my new studio together. I'll get some pics up once its finished being set up.
For the geeky:
Software is Reason and FL Studio(which I host vsts in) rewired into ableton live 8
Roland SH-201
Alesis Quadrasynth for main midi keyboard and i guess some of its sounds are decent
Both of those running into an M-Audio delta 44 interface
Samson Mediaone5a monitors
For midi control I got:
Novation Launchpad 2 Korg nanocontrols(no such thing as to many knobs) Korg nanopad M-audio X-session pro
Pretty stoked to start working in it. Should be so much easier once i learn it all.

Reason is fucking AWESOME

I'm curious why you rewire fl studio into ableton to host vst's instead of just hosting them in ableton.

Im a noob. What's all this stuff for?

Ya, launchpad video had me sold, it is SOOO better than an apc40 IMO.
Oh and ya there is a microphone but its a crappy one, i cant sing though so i rarely use it other then for vocoder and for recording instruments, it does a decent job on brass instruments.
I hope to have it finally complete by the end of the year, still waiting on an ebay auction to finish so i can order the launchpad.
As for FL Studio, I like it much better as a vsti host then ableton. Just a personal preference, and its easy enough to just rewire in. Its really just cuz i learned on fl studio and im more used to it, and the windows interface.
@jimminy_kriket: The roland sh-201 and quadrasynth are hardware synthesizers. The interface is to get the audio into the computer. Monitor is just a word for fancy speakers. The midi controllers make it easier to turn knobs and such inside the software.

awesome man! Keep us updated with pics!

So theres a little problem, it might take longer then i expected to get it all set up. The x-session pro is backordered =$ but ill just wait it out.
On a good note the Quadrasynth arrived today.

What kind of mic is it? (brand/model). Ribbons are usually the best mics for brass, I've found.
Nice deal though, very nice.

I dont know to much about microphones. It is a Nady. I think it was originally meant as a like karaoke mic or speaking mic. I just think it sounds good on the brass though, not professional but it does a better job of brass then voice. Decent enough voice for vocoder though and if i EQ right it sounds decent. Its not like I have a lot of money nor the need to throw into mics. Im just having fun at the moment.
