I was mindlessly assuming ffx was just as popular or close. I guess I was thinking that the more recent final fantasies would draw more attention than 7's tifa, although vii is always going to be the classic FF rpg. Also, I thought Aerith would get more votes as well.
Lightning is supposed to be a female version of cloud, so lightning, cloud...I dunno :p

I'm rather fond of FFVIII, it's my favorite FF actually, and I've always thought that Rinoa is the most physically attractive of the leading ladies in FF. In terms of character, she's just a bimbo though. And a baby at times. Too much to deal with. I never understood how Squall could ever stand *her* least of all, with his outlook on life she's like 10x more annoying than Zell is, and clingy to boot.
Aeris, Yuna, and Tifa updated (FF:AC) are cuties; but that FMV of Terra does her no justice, she looks a lot better in artwork and her appearance in Dissisdia..
Yuna is just beautiful actually, and her heterochromatic eyes only make her more interesting to look at. She also has the most substance of any of these girls (actually I dunno about Terra, never played FF6 for more than 2 hours or so) and she is a brave hero in her own right. The love story sub-plot between her and Tidus is my favorite thing about FFX, and the conflict between being duty bound and her own wishes is almost heart-wrenching (the scene where she begins to cry in the sphere pool). And before things got goofy (FFX-2) she's like the most complete female character the series has ever had. FFX is actually about her, not Tidus. She's the main character, it's just played from his viewpoint. Like I said I have no idea about Terra; maybe she did it first. But Yuna is such a complete character she stands head and shoulders above all the rest of the girls.
Why no FF12? I know the story is asinine but at least we can ogle the girlies? Ashe and Fran are the only good parts of that game...

Doesn't say favorite due to appearances. In terms of character, cute-ness, and overall likeability I've always found Princess Garnet to be a very interesting and attractive character. Sure she doesn't have 'huge tits' or in scantly clothes, but she's got spunk.

TBH everyone was badly animated in FFVII.
I thought she was pretty important, helped Cloud out, was a reason for some of his actions in the game.

Tifa is not only the best female character in Final Fantasy, but preety much one of the best female characters in video gaming. Not only is she good looking, she has a great personality and is very good at martial arts to boot. Overall, she is one of the most likable characters you can ever encounter in a video game. Honestly, I never really understood why so many people chose Aerith over her in the dating sequence of Final Fantasy VII.
Celes is also a great character. Out of all the Final Fantasy VI characters, she sticks out in my mind the most and is easily the most memorable one among them (probably beacuse of the opera scene).

Lulu's hi-res doesn't show even a hint of her massive mams (they're HUGE in-game, she dwarfs Tifa's for all the booby-men-voters out there!) and Ashe is the tough girl in FFXII, with a bad temper and is pretty much a downer. She's way too charmingly happy in her pic.
For those that don't get it about the bunny girl, Fran's appeal is (besides the whole playboy bunny thing) she's got that exotic skin color and looong legs in heels. Though that's dangerously close to furry country. I like to think she just wears a hat -_-;

but I missed out on so much stuff like getting umaro, gogo, paladin shield, and that really strong sword. It took me so long because I tried to find everything but still failed rofl

Yeah, but I'm not the type of guy that likes to spend 5 hours wandering around doing repetitive battles. I used an emulator so whenever it asked to to walk a really stupidly long way and fight battles that were pretty hard to lose, I'd turn it on x8.

Well with both of those characters, you just had to go deeper into the mines at Narshe, or with Gogo get sucked up by some worm on Triangle island. Well, at least to start the 'quest' thing to get them both, its fairly straight forward at that point, though.

Gogo is so easy to miss. Who actually thinks that the Zone eater leads to a dungeon? I mean maybe a NPC said something about it, but anybody like me would just smoke bomb and gtfo. Umaro I missed because I was lazy. I was tired and after I beat Tritoch, I just left and saved.
A lot of weapons and items are easy to miss as well. Like Genji Glove (the first one), the Elixirs in the clocks, flametongue in the imperial base inside the broiler thing, that esper the guy sells to you that teaches cure 2 at like x20, Paladin shield ofc, Moogle charm, charm bangle, and a Ribbon. There's a lot of stuff that really doesn't occur to you during your first play through.
I mean I'm not even getting into that Gladiator thing or trying to beat MagiMaster :/

But seriously though, after FF8 the designers at Square went apeshit, or they hired some really wasted interns or something, because the clothes and the environments of the characters since then has been utter shit. This also goes for some characters altogether. First of all I always had a problem with the naming. First FF game I played was FF7, and I was cool with Cloud because I didn't pronounce it Cloud, I pronounced it Clååd, or Clood. I mean surely the japanese hadn't actually meant for the main character to be named after something as faggy as an actual cloud, right? But the character design was good, and the clothes and environments were great, it was a good job. Tifa's tits were ridiculously huge, but puberty had made itself known and I wasn't about to fucking complain as much as I was replaying the cg scenes over and over as well as finding jerkable stills on the internet. I mean this game is, what, 10 years old, pretty much as old as Starcraft, and doujinshi artists are STILL making new Tifa hentai. Boobs alone cannot hope to aspire to such commitment.
Then FF8 came along with a main character called Squall, who happened to be wielding a GUNblade, and at that point I started to catch on to what Square was really about. Squall's character and design was good though, if you were willing to overlook the retarded name and the even more retarded weapon concept. But the same didn't go for the rest of the crew. First of all, the character designer they had working on FF8 was a complete fucking hack, as all the male characters looked exactly the same, even exactly the same as other characters that this useless bastard had created for OTHER GAMES! Second, the heroine's clothes were completely bland, they were, she wore TIGHTS for Christ's sakes, with some kind of semi sweatervestbathrobe shit ontop. Selphie was the worst character ever, all aspects, hands down.
Then came FF9 and by now I had started to realize that FF7 was never coming back. FF9 was brave, it was a completely Hayao Miyazaki world, everything from the characters to the world itself and everything in it was really fucking Disney, but I just couldn't get into it. It was asking too much of the player. I finished it anyway cause I was like 17 years old or so and fuck it, what else was I supposed to do in between masturbating and not doing my homework, but the only impression it left was that of a waste of time. I've tried going back to it and really trying to get into the completely immense fantasy experience, but no, the game totally failed on account of being unbelievable. I realize I've been taking the pubertal angle alot so far, being a teenager at the time and all, but the main heroine Garnet was not even interesting enough to jerk off to. If she had died, actually if the whole cast except for Vivi had died in the middle of the story, I wouldn't have given a shit.
Then FF10 came along, and I bojcotted that shit about ten minutes in on account of the main character Tidus being a complete wussy bitch. I watched the good parts when my sister was playing instead. I liked Yuna, but what kind of westerner would I be if I wasn't attracted to quiet, submissive and dutiful asians? Auron was cool, obviously, but did we ever get a reason why he wore his arm like it was broken? Rikku was cool, good character design with some minor flaws, but Lulu completely ruined any attempt I made to look past Tidus. What the fuck was up with her outfit? I mean here we have a dark, voluptuous babe with huge double D business practically spilling out of her... Completely ridiculous fucking outfit. Not gonna go into this too much, I've bored anyone who happened on the subject to death with it too many times, I'll just say that in a tropical climate not only does she wear fur, but she fights using a fucking moogle and the front of her dress is made up of dozens of different fucking BELTS? FUCK YOU!
That being said, totally jerkable.
Then Final Fantasy X-2 hit the scene and after having witnessed my sister playing through the power rangers intro I consciously decided that Square-Enix are completely dead to me now.

Well, I guess. But you never tried to kill the Zone Eater? Until my party was ridiculously powerful, I was never able to kill those things before it sucked up my party.

Personally I didn't even know he EXISTED in my first play through. I never set foot on that island he's on, didn't think it was anything special about it.
Managed to get Mog and Shadow killed too Not sure if I found Umaro or not.
Then again, I was like.. 13, at the time. You don't have much patience at that age.

I don't think you can actually get Mog killed. I mean, you can not get him in the World of Balance, but you can still get him in the World of Ruin. I got Shadow killed my first playthrough too, though. That sequence was just so intense back then.
I guess I just liked FF6 so much I played the shit out of it. Plus my older brother had already beaten it, so that helped ALOT.

Final Fantasy Tactics (Not those shitty GBA ones) is my favorite one in the series but as for the RPGs, either III VI, or VII.

Hm. Wasn't there a point where you could choose between saving Mog or that wolf man guy? Saving Mog let you use him, and saving the wolf man guy resulted in him giving you a pretty rare item.

Yeah, thats what happens in the World of Balance. Its a choice between Mog and a Golden Hairpin relic or something. But even if you choose the Golden Hairpin, you can still get Mog in the World of Ruin, in the moogle village at Narshe.

Yeah, Shadow was another one of those things that just didn't work on the first way through for most. I never really liked Shadow anyways :/

I actually beat both Ruby and Emerald Weapon with only Yuffie, I killed off everyone else in my party first.
Here's the deal: Her ultimate weapon gets stronger the higher the enemy level is. Since both these Weapons has the highest level in the game she will deal 9999 damage per hit no problem. I can't remember the exact materia combination I used, but I think I had two counter attack materias paired with double cut. Whenever Emerald touched Yuffie she would counter with a total of 8 hits doing 9999 damage each. I can't remember what kind of healing mechanism I had set up, maybe it was just mastered double cut paired with HP absorb.
Anyway the point is that when you solo two of the hardest bosses in the game with Yuffie she doesn't suck.

wow i never thought of using counter attack 4xcut (iirc)
i just used something like 4x final attack revive (pheonix)
when i killed emerald i got all seven fever and i think i killed emerald with like 30 or 5 seconds remaining
i had so many zillions of gil from maxing and selling all materia it bugged
and spent hours maxing stats by morphing items
never bothered to get a gold chocobo tho :D

when you think you've done everything and spent 10000 hours playing this game
then out of the corner of your eye you see some materia shining and pick up SHIELD materia HAHA
and finding things like protect ring ...godly
