Okay, so I've been noticing an increase in both FMyLife (they don't have the guts to say fuck) and My Life is Average. I've noticed that MLIA is significantly better. Why?
1. Reality. MLIA has more realistic situations, ones that we can actually see happening. FML just has shit that looks like people pulled it out of their ass while the page was loading.
2. Humor. Okay, FML is actually funnier, but once again when you factor the real factor in, MLIA takes the bacon again.
3. Can be summed up by this post from MLIA:
Today, we told the teacher our favorite websites. A girl said FML and nobody laughed. I then said mine was MLIA and everybody laughed. MLIA.
Of course,this is only my opinion. I want to hear what you guys think, which one is better and why. I don't want any flak with posts like "WTF FML is way better retard" (oh wait, this is TL). But seriously though, tell me what you guys think.
I agree, MLIA is just more realistic and appeals to a bigger audience FML is quite hilarious though. Although stories from both can be fabricated but then again, all for entertainments sake huh?
While I know its not meant to be taken seriously and that people don't actually really mean anything by it, the triviality often associated with its use is really quite an underwhelming appreciation of what real difficulties can present in life.
Yeah, some of the stories on FML are just stupid pleas for attention or obviously made up. MLIA is interesting, some of the observations people make are rather humorous and almost glaringly obvious, yet I never thought of them. This is always a nice experience
Way too many Harry Potter stories on MLIA, but overall, MLIA is pretty funny. The old ones are the best though, a lot of the newer ones are starting to be just as contrived as FML.
UGH. MLIA is being ruined by retarded people that don't even know how MLIA works. Some of the stories don't even complement the MLIA at the end.
For example:
The other day, I was asking people to donate money for a charity, along with my friends. My friend went up to a British guy and asked for a donation. He seemed to not understand her. She then asked him in her best British accent and he gave her 10 dollars.MLIA
WTF IS THIS SHIT? This is a random anecdote that would do even better without the MLIA at the end. Why is this even on the site?
The general population understands how o use FML a lot better, and therefore, FML delivers more often than MLIA right now.
