Back in '99 I was really into MUDs. One that I found particularly interesting was a PvP mud called Static Chaos. It was interesting because the PvP was VERY balanced, and complex (for a text based game, anyway). Around '03 the host decided to take the MUD down and has been lost ever since.

Fast forward to 2009. I stumbled across the source code for this MUD on the web and decided to bring it back to life. It's got some bugs in it and needs revision, but I managed to find an inexpensive host.

The point? I need people to test the changes I made in the code to see if it's still balanced. Once I know the system is balanced and I get the website for the game up, I'll be buying banners (Probably right here on TL).

P.S. I'm not sure why, but the ones that did the best at this game were always assholes.

Edit:
In case you don't know how to use the address I gave, download a MUD client
(http://darkover.isilm.com/files/zmud362a.zip)

Open the client, then use "staticchaos.mudhosting.net" for the host and "1982" for the port.

In my experience about 95% of gamers are assholes but a fair amount won't show it until they are skilled or consider themselves part of 'the best'.

Also I have no idea what MUD is.

Yea im with him ^ I'd be willing to help you out for the love of gaming but i have no clue what MUD is, and if it's not such a widely used term you should have explained that in ur OP

multi user dungeon I believe
It's pretty well known among older gamers. It's just they kinda stopped being popular.

That said, I'm in this blog for the gammon. I knew the words didn't say gammon but I still felt it was close enough to click on and read because I could really go for a gammon steak right now.

MUDs are like WoW except pretty much text-only... and the reason they got unpopular is because early MMOs with primitive graphics showed up

that being said they are the shit, and I wouldn't mind playing one again
