i just have a small request: Could anyone of you upload his videogame music collection or link me to one??? I know many of you guys have tons of videogame music on their computers. I just have the pokemon theme and starcraft songs (obviously uh o_o) Please TL, help me to listen to all those epic video game songs ! btw: rapidshare,etc > torrent  incase its illegal to ask for such old songs and great nostalgia feel free to delete this blog, mods  | ||

thanks for ur replies, but im looking for a complete collection since im too lazy to dl them one by one and i prolly won't remember every good song since there are so many^^ Beggars cant be chooser. :O The site that I recommended use their own server for all of those mp3, so the download is pretty fast. but if you still insist, you can try this website: http://www.gamemp3s.net/ it use torrent though | ||

http://downloads.khinsider.com/ Also if you're into videogame remakes there's this japanese band called Saitama Saishuu Heiki (think I spelled that correctly), abbreviated S.S.H that make some awesome metaly/rock -ish covers which is quite awesome. For popular consoles like NES, GEN, SNES, PS1-2, etc. people have found ways to rip the source from the actual game, and have compiled soundtracks this way. There's special players for these files that have been written, but more conveniently perhaps, there are also WinAmp plugins that will allow you to play these files. You can find mirrors on the web, but here's a big compilation of soundtracks in this way: http://www.zophar.net/music.html edit: Well of course a lot of games have official OSTs and that's what you'll find. EDIT: @Myrmidon i searched around on the site you linked me to and downloaded a .gbs file (gameboy music file) and the winamp plugin "meridian": http://www.zophar.net/utilities/gbs.html but its just a .dll i put the .dll into the winamp directory, but the .gbs file wont work. how to get it working?^^ | ||

The .dll is in_gbs.dll, and I put it in ~/Winamp/Plugins along with all the other in_XXX.dll files. Did you just put it in ~/Winamp? That would be the problem. edit: also, just in case, I think it needs to be Winamp version 2.x or 5.x (not 3.x). | ||

My bad though, should've read the OP abit more thouroughly. Seeing as he wanted to get nostalgic with some old VG music I should've assumed what he was looking was more or less towards the NES/SNES etc. era of videogame music.:D | ||

I also like the Final Fantasy series, with FFVI being my favorite. The first time I heard Terra's theme I loved it and for me nothing beats the original 16-bit version that you got from the SNES. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find it on YouTube so here's a piano version that is nearly as nice: Finally, I present the intro music to two games I played the hell out of as a kid: Streets of Rage and Lotus Turbo Challenge. I still have my Genesis and boxed games in excellent condition, although I think I could only ever bring myself to sell it if I was facing material destitution. I remember just putting in the cartridge and letting them run, so I could enjoy the music. I prefer Streets of Rage but they both invoke a lot of nostalgia: | ||
