Dodge razer products like THE FUCKING PEST

Made a thread about it earlier but as usual in a conflict of interest, TL staff closes any threads shedding light on Razer's horrible failure rate. (And a blog)

Apparently this kind of unwanted advertisement is only allowed in Blogs, just to make sure it doesn't get the exposure it should. This is a privately owned site, I have no say on the rules, but ain't it just THE RIGHT GODDAMN THING TO DO? Isn't the community what made this site the greatest? Razer surely ain't paying for every person posting here, so should we ban criticism because they give out 10k to a handful of players who make up less than 0.1% of the community? I'm not even slightly raged at Razer, I'm disappointed and I want to make sure people know about these issues before buying a Razer product, but I AM pretty amazed at how the TL staff will go out of it's way to delete these threads as quick as they appear.

This really aint a rage blog or a rant, it might seem like it here, but the original thread was very mild, constructive in it's criticism. I'm not mad raged, I'll go buy a IE3.0 or IO1.1 tomorrow. I am just HONESTLY warning people about Razer. You're taking a gamble. Your mice might work 5 years, but it might break the day after you bought it. "So fucking what", you'll say, "that could happen with any mice (or product for that matter)". True. Problem is Razer has by far the highest failure rate out of the major mice and gaming product companies. I've ordered two mice from Razer, both broke within 48 hours of me receiving them. In comparison, I've lasted 2 MX518's and a IE3.0 for over 2 years each and the G5 I had prior to this for about 2 as well. All of these mice went out from regular usage (left click dies over time, I'm a heavy pc user, poker+cs+schoolwork+others). When it comes to razer though, both mice died of manufacturing issues, the first had a USB failure, the other died during a firmware update (seriously razer? Wtf???).

Oh and getting a replacement for my 1st one was the worst customer service experience I've had, shit I was so pissed after it, I made an actual rage post in a TSL thread which got me banned 2 weeks. And of course I never managed to get that replacement.

Obviously, this time, the piece of shit is going straight to garbage, not gonna bother talking with the incompetent hacks I had to go through last time.

Anyways, remind yourself to label any mice-related opinion on TL as a load of bullshit, seeing how every post I've ever made about their products was either censored, locked or nuked. Makes you wonder how many others out there also reported having problems with their Razer hardware.

Save yourself a headache and some money, stick to MS/Logi.

IF YOU BOUGHT FAULTY RAZER PRODUCTS BEFORE, POST HERE
I'm trying to show the community, or at least the part I'll reach through this blog, that I didn't just invent Razer's failure rate, if you read forums for many other gaming communities, this has been reported over and over. Sadly, I am starting to believe that TL deletes and censors any form of visible criticism towards Razer. This is not just some raging nerd, it's the community making sure that next time someone is shopping for a mouse, they KNOW that they're taking a gamble, that their mouse might not work, and how razer's customer service treats it's customers. Call me a carebear, a nerd, I don't give a fuck, if no one cared, this whole community would be dead. Some of you post commentaries, other builds, fill in the Liquipedia or give software/hardware advice. Well if I can contribute anything to this community, it'll be saving a few dollars to gamers, who don't always sit on piles of cash.

You're trying to advertize a product on your website and you won't allow me to talk shit about it here.

Kindly fixed. Yes TL is probably razer-biased. One of TL's staff members works for razer damnit, get real.

I too have had 2 razer mice break within a week of buying them.(It was the razer copperhead and the only reason I bought the damned mouse twice is because previously I had a copperhead that lasted for 4+ years and was the best mouse ever).

Anyways, needless to say i'm done with razer and switched to logitech.

I expect some bias ... but censoring criticism? I'm not talking shit, I'm warning people, whoever they may be and in a broader way, the community. Will everyone on TL read it? Of course not, but people will know and WHO KNOWS, maybe someone at Razer is reading and someday they'll up the quality... Although, if they're anything like Steelseries, Icemat or the other gaming peripheral brands out there, they probably buy it from a separate manufacturer (this is not fact for razer, I'm assuming this, but I know that many companies do this, mostly when it comes to audio products).

Talking shit would be something like that kid's review of the salmosa, calling it a piece of shit for no reason and basically bringing nothing smart except "it's got mouse prediction".

I have Razer Diamondback, it is kinda faulty, because when you press LPM at the right Side of the front of the mouse it doesn't register that click.

But it's not a problem for me, because i use fingertip grip, and i press mid-left part of LPM, but everyone i know uses either claw or palm and they complain about my mouse not working.

Actually i wouldn't have discovered it if my friends didn't start complaining about my mouse

I won a razer Destructor mousepad once. One time it caught on fire and my whole computer exploded. Man, fuck razer.

Actually, that didn't happen. The Destructor mat sits comfortably on my tabletop, and logitech can go fuck itself with a pair of rusty forks.

I wanted to address this in your closed thread, but obviously couldn't. I myself own a Razer mouse, the Diamondback. I've had it for two years now, and have never had a problem with it. You had a part in one of your topics for people like me, however, and I've never had a need to call their customer service, so I can't say anything there.

However, just saying stick to Logitech/MS doesn't really help. Just as Razer products may experience problems, so do other products put out by competitors. I've had the same problems with Logitech as you've had with Razer. I've been through six of their USB headsets in three years, and it wasn't due to neglect. I've also had my G11 for two years and don't care for it. I've had a few problems with the keys jamming up and having to remove and reset them. Logitech support kind of sucks, but their saving grace is in returns. I've been able to get a replacement headset or two, if I had my receipt, as it was still under warranty.

it's weird, i see razer complaints everywhere online but everyone i know with a razer mouse is a huge fan. i own a razer krait myself and i think it's amazing. my biggest gripe with razer products is that they are notoriously short-lived (the only thing i can relate to from razer online reviews); it's only been 3-4 years and this mouse is starting to glitch. still hard to deny how sick these mice are when they work as intended though.

also, what's up with the passive aggressive jabs at the moderators? the previous versions of this thread were not closed because we nitpicked at 'technicalities,' and certainly not closed 'as usual' because of 'conflicts of interest.' please believe me, staff here are not that petty. see for yourself - find an open rant op in general, any thread with all caps, or any user unreasonably banned for the sole reason of having differing opinions. it's merely quality assurance! don't take it personally.

It's hard to break a mousepad =/ If it wasn't for the fact that I just won't personally buy Razer products anymore, pads are probably the only thing I might go for, provided I found a pad I'm comfortable with in their product line. Like 3/5 guys on my old 1.6 LAN team used their pads. Two of them also had DA's who lasted quite some time.

Nail yourself to a cross you useless goup. If you could write intelligent well thought out posts you wouldn't have this problem. Instead you paint the entire site and staff with the same broad brush and rage on your keyboard like a WoW chimp. Your cause or opinion doesn't matter if you can't be decent about it.

That is what gets your shit banned, it has nothing to do with razer.

edit - other staff is so much nicer than I am. I'm going to afk and let them deal with it.

Dodge razer products like THE FUCKING PEST

Made a thread about it earlier but as usual in a conflict of interest, TL staff closes any threads shedding light on Razer's horrible failure rate. (And a blog)

Your thread was called "To Razer/Fakesteve" and located in the general forum. Contained 100% your own personal experience coupled with angry ranting. No matter the subject that's never going to be appropriate in our general forum. There is zero bias in closing it and telling you to blog it. Then instead of blogging that post you blog a new rant full of inaccurate conspiracies with a capslocked title. Now I am confused whether you do this on purpose to piss us off so that we will close your post again in order for you to rant about conspiracy a bit more, or whether you are genuinely unaware of the terrible quality of your posts.

Open a topic in the general forum that isn't a rant next time and see what will happen? The problem is your topic isn't a discussion it is the statement of fact that Razer sucks balls simply because you as an individual have had 2 bad experiences with it. If your topic was about logitech it would have been closed and if it was about anything else it would have been closed as well. You need to take a step back and breath and take a good look at who is doing what.

This really aint a rage blog or a rant, it might seem like it here, but the original thread was very mild, constructive in it's criticism. I'm not mad raged, I'll go buy a IE3.0 or IO1.1 tomorrow. When it comes to razer though, both mice died of manufacturing issues, the first had a USB failure, the other died during a firmware update (seriously razer? Wtf???).

You clearly have different definition of what is a rant. However your definition is the opinion of 1 and ours is what has been used on TL for 7 years. If you open a topic in general telling Fakesteve to tell Razer to stop shipping faulty products do you think that is constructive? Do you actually see Fakesteve going up to his boss and going "hey.. yeah so this one guy told me to tell you to stop shipping faulty products".

Yeah, I did it again, after being scammed once (a little over a year ago) and having to deal with a broken mouse within 48 of receiving it and never actually being able to get it replaced thanks to razer's AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE , I got over my razer hate and my fear of gaming companies and their shitty product quality and bought a DeathAdder, as many of my gaming friends use it for FPS.

Is this mild? Is this constructive? You received two faulty products and insinuate that Razer is a bunch of scammers. It's nothing but inaccurate misinformation couple with angry ranting.
Sponsor TSL all you want with prizes for 2-3 gamers, paid by the purchases of thousands of gamers, many on a tight budget, who you sell your shitty products to, but I swear to god I will make sure to let every gamer I know (I write for an eSports website lol), how fucking horrible every Razer experience I've had turned out.

Mild? Constructive?

but I'll be damned if they don't have the highest failure rate of any gaming company out there.

Fact? Rant? Mild? Constructive?

Oh and getting a replacement for my 1st one was the worst customer service experience I've had, shit I was so pissed after it, I made an actual rage post in a TSL thread which got me banned 2 weeks. And of course I never managed to get that replacement.

My OP in the General forum was not allcaps and was not a rant. It was a mild mannered criticism and somewhat similar to this, minus the censorship part, as I thought that was probably just due to the TSL happening at the time of my previous issues with Razer products. My other blog was not allcaps either, only the title was, you're right though, I've never seen an allcaps title, I thought mods could simply edit that, instead it got nuked. Given the content wasn't great, I didn't feel like typing up all of this again. Ended up doing so because I believe this could be helpful to some people.

You're also right about these being sick when they do work. That's never been my issue, as I said, they are amazing products when they work, but they seem to have a very high failure rate (not related to regular use). On top of this Razer's customer support is subpar when compared to others in the peripheral market.

If your Razer stuff worked well, you can post as well, we might get a gross approximate of what the actual rate looks like, but coming from an FPS background, I see and hear complaints about these issues alot. (Maybe because a very large fringe of the community uses Razer/Steelseries products, whereas I recon that the SC community is very much attached to the mini optical by logitech and I wouldn't be surprised if we had a larger % of Razer users in competitive FPS communities, just look at SA/SF in Korea). Plus the CS worldwide playerbase is still much larger than the SC playerbase. (Will change very soon with SC2 though, regardless of how it succeeds in Korea, it'll surely overtake CS in pure player base, probably as well as in terms of competitive player base)

Are you kidding me? "If you could write intelligent well thought out posts"

For what, for you to delete them? I'm not gonna bring out my credentials because my writing standards here are obviously not the same from where I work, but let's just leave it at the level that I am in a head position, in charge of many staff writers, at a decently sized eSports coverage organization.

Maybe you shouldn't be so goddamn quick to jump the gun. Apparently you have been around TL for such a brief (surprisingly it's over a year) period that you don't know which topics belong in general. But also you don't know of our closed forum where people can find their closed threads and usually the reasons for closing it.

Moving to "Closed" is pretty much Deleting/Nuking/Closing ... Regardless of how you want to call it, "You're taking it off".

You can move to closed, but you cant move it to blogs or edit titles? Btw, I'm not bringing a conspiracy up, I'm saying it's odd that I've had replies where I didn't exactly use gloves that never got any attention, whereas pretty much every post, thread reply or comment I've made concerning razer has been taken off.
