Antestor - The Forsaken
Anyone here who has heard of Antestor probably heard about them in a negative way. They are a Holy Unblack Metal band(a play on "Unholy Black Metal"), which basically means they are a normal black metal band with christian lyrics. They are looked down upon in the black metal community for weaving good messages in music that is supposed to be dark and evil. They have even recieved death threats from members of the black metal community. This is why they are my favorite black metal band. If you don't wish to hear about a christian band, then please refrain from flaming me and just leave the thread.
The music itself is very good. The band had an opportunity to use a full orchestra on this album, and it is used to great effect. A choir is also used to great effect. The musicians themselves are very good, the drummer is great and the guitar lines are very well-crafted. Overall it is a very good album. Don't have to much to say about it, its late and I'm really tired, and don't know to much about black metal so I'll just quit while I'm ahead.
Rating: 2 Thumbs up for going against what they are supposed to be and writing freakin amazing orchestrations and being fantastic musicians.
Recommended for: Metal fans who are also christians, or people who are just curious about what christian black metal would be like.
Not recommended for: Anyone who does not like chrstianity, KLOVE DJs,
