Infected Mushroom - Legend of the Black Shawarma
Well, if you haven't heard of Infected Mushroom then you are probably not a psytrance fan. They are one of the most commercially successful psytrance bands, and there is a reason for that. That reason, is however, not this album.
Why do I say so? I do not know. I can't pinpoint the exact reason, but I just do not like this album nearly as much as previous IM albums. The only 2 songs I really liked were "Smashing the Opponent" and the title track, "Legend of the Black Shawarma." I just don't feel the vibe that I do in previous albums.
Lets focus on the good. One thing I liked about this album is that it features more guitar then in any other IM album. The 2 songs that I liked the best were pretty good. "Smashing the Opponent" is a more of a pop song, with a very catchy chorus with vocals from Jonathan Davis of Korn(been humming it all day). "Legend of the Black Shawarma" is traditional Infected Mushroom. I'll include both videos.
Rating: No thumbs for disappointing me.
Recommended for: IM fanboys, metalheads looking for an EDM style that is somewhat close to their music.
Not Recommended for: People who aren't fanboys but like IM's older work(just buy the song Legend of the Black Shawarma on itunes, you'll like it), trancecrackers who believe trance is supposed to be beatiful and uplifting and nothing else.
