I've recently stumbled upon these 2 swedish electronic musicians and really like their style. I quote: "The name is a portmanteau of minimal (the musical style) and dialogue, which refers to music as a form of communication."
I'm not sure where, but I read that they spent 5 years on one of their albums because they always took long periods of time to get disattached from their music, enabling them to always hear it with 'virgin ears'. I think it contributes to the timeless feel that their music has.
Their newest project is a DVD that consists of 15 chapters and is called 'Animals the movie', in connection to their last album called Animals. Every chapter has its own song and very unique visual style. The visual aspect was something they had since long envisioned when creating their music.
All parts are connected by a certain theme: the conjuctive concept of the film is the idea of universal transformation and movement, which is represented in the animals. The artists follow the surrealist credo that everything is linked with everything else in a hidden way. The only way to uncover these links is art. With its irresistible synthetic dynamics, the film reveals these secret connections.
