I'm very interested in starting an organization for our team, though I'm not sure what the name would be yet. Being an org at Auburn gets us $1000 per semester, as long as we can justify expenditures and give them an enumerated list. It also allows us to obtain rooms from the University (for LANs, showmatches and the like). I'm thinking the money would go toward team shirts, once we figure out what we want, as well as prizes for local tournaments and perhaps compensation for an organizer, though it may be folly to pay someone if we'd rather have a volunteer.
To start the organization, I'd need at least fifteen interested students, a faculty advisor, a constitution and by-laws. If anyone reading this has any experience in that respect, I'd be glad to hear from you. All in all, though, I'm rather excited about the prospects in AU.
