We are not slaves in the true sense of the word. I think the point of the quote is that we are free willed slaves, just like matrix we have this illusion of choice and freedom.

YouTube comments are the perfect source for reliable information about political and social organization. Yes I can confirm that every U.S. citizen is a slave to the American government. Once a month in Washington, Congress draws numbers out of a hat (well, since the advent of computers it's a bit more sophisticated than that). The "citizens" (in quotes because they're actually slaves) who correspond to those numbers are immediately picked up by the FBI and transported to a device below the National Monument which is a bit like a giant Cuisinart. The Feds then throw them into the device, creating the human purée that sustains the country's lawmakers and evil capitalist economy. Oh, and another interesting fact is that if you were to check the inner lining of your large intestine, you'd find tattooed the same number that appears on your birth certificate. That's because in your mother's second trimester, Federal agents will visit her in the night and use lasers to badge you (the fetus) so that you'll always be identifiable. The Federal Government wouldn't be a very good corporation if it didn't keep track of its stocks!
