I don't blog much, but in my last blog from a little over 3 months ago I mentioned I had just asked out my gf. We just said our goodbyes tonight since she leaves for college early tomorrow morning, but she secretly left me a few little gifts in my car unbeknown to me. These gifts included:
A Guster CD:
and
nutella (aka chocolaty/hazelnutty amazingness)
However, the most important of the gifts was a little memory scrapbook handmade thing with a ton of our inside jokes, pictures, and memorable stuff we did over the summer.... and I gave her nothing. I am a bad person and I figure I can send her a package or something to her at school but I just am feeling like she cared so much to spend a lot of time making that and I didn't do squat.
Summary: My gf gave me a cool handmade, meaningful gift, and I didn't do anything for her.

but seriously, you made a little mistake now you have to make it up somehow. try to do something nice/thoughtful and you should be good, it's a little bit harder with long distance but not impossible. be creative (as you said the best gift was the scrapbook that she put a lot of time and thought into)

Accepting the gift honours the giver. Don't try to reciprocate, accept it gracefully and send her a letter telling her how much you appreciated it. Then, later, find another suitable spot to return the favour.

It's never too late really to gift her back but don't do it out of a sense of duty to her. Just because she gifted you something doesn't mean you have to do the same.
Probably write her a letter or let her know how much you appreciate it! When the time is right catch her off guard and gift her something!

This is the best advice to follow.
Don't feel like you have to "make up" for this gift - it only creates a cycle of guilt when there shouldn't be. Just remember to do nice things for your gf every now and then, and not because she did something for you.

Do this. If you send her a gift now shes gonna realize you only did it because she got you something, and then the gift will lose any meaning that you intended for it.

One thing, don't try to "one up" her ... just do something that you think is nice / thoughtful to show her you appreciate. If you try to purposefully one up her it'll turn into a war you just can't win.
