The same goes for the only slightly less obvious maneuver of "hey, poster X, maybe you didn't see my last response to you, or are you ignoring it?"

Is it really that different in tone to everyone else? What is it in particular? Yes, your posting is particularly atrocious.

I haven't watched you enough to say, and I don't track everyone in such detail; but such criticisms are common, and such behavior isn't that uncommon, so you could be similar in tone to others and receive such complaints. if you want I could review a specific exchange and provide an assessment of it.

A lot of terrible shit happens beneath the guise of civility, so maybe? Not sure that's relevant here though ![]()

The one with 5+ direct quotes. Rather close to when Micronesia refused to apply the same standard for singling out xDaunt to other staff/writers.

Is it really that different in tone to everyone else? What is it in particular? Please don't take it as a personal attack, I'm just trying to help. I think it's because quite often you get yourself into arguments that look more or less like this: 1. Controversial view or action is mentioned 2. You respond by presenting that view or action in a caricatural way, either because you want to mock the poster or because you don't understand the position and for some reason pick the most evil interpretation of it possible (recently I'm leaning toward the latter, years ago I thought you just like to make fun of bardtown, but now I'm starting to think you genuinely don't understand people like him and those more radical) 3. The poster feels insulted by your post and replies with calling you a "massive ass" 4. You and the poster continue the fruitless exchange that turns into arguing about semantics / repeating your positions over and over / trading insults In short, it looks like you have a tendency to demonize certain opinions. It's easy to remember because of point 4, but I think the root of the problem (if you consider it a problem) is in point 2 - you present the views of your opponents very wrongly (in their mind at least) and it's very annoying to them. In your defense, it may look like this because you happen to get into those long exchanges with bad posters like sc-darkness whose posting is just indefensible. Yeah, you might be correct in pointing their wrongs out, but I don't get what you're trying to achieve by continuing to exchange posts with them once it's clear the discussion is going nowhere. It makes both of you look petty.
