Name Changing Policy From now on, name changes will only be done on a very limited basis. Usernames are very important in an online community like ours. They're the sole thing people identify you by, not voice, looks, etc - it's entirely your username. Your whole history, reputation, and everything else is tied only to your name. Change it, and people either have no clue who you are, or have to constantly remember that you're "that other person who changed their name from whatever-it-was-before." When a person who's been around for awhile changes their name, it only causes confusion. Now everyone who reads posts on the site has to remember *two* names for that person. And the original name never goes away anyway, you see the new name and think "oh yeah, that's so-and-so." Lots of sites on the internet have very strict policies where they simply do not allow any name changes period, for the reasons mentioned above and more. We'll reserve the right to make rare exceptions, but generally names will only be changed for the following reasons: - Changing a clan tag. - Changing letter cases or other minor alterations. - Relatively new accounts or names we don't recognize. - Bad usernames (as discussed in #4 of the TL commandments). Feel free to still request changes, and we'll either change it or reply back with a reason for not changing it. | ||
