2.) Make a "guess a number between bla & bla" or "make a donation page" and whoever guesses the right # or donates the most gets a special seat to compete with the rest in the HDH2. 3.) Invite the sc1 korean pros? I mean just for the lols, sure they dont practice sc2 but I am SURE that they've PLAYED it at least a few times out of curiosity. SC is so big for them, i'd be hella surprise if they haven't at least PLAYED the beta. 4.) Even high prize pool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But indeed, qualifiers usually provide amazing underdogs and surprisingly good players. Also I just wanted to say, I've seen a lot of people criticise HD and Husky, comparing them to, for instance Day[9] (who is totally awesome), but to be quite honest I've really enjoyed watching the HDH, and their commentary, which is what matters most I think. Thanks for all your work!

It eliminates all the chatter about certain people not being invited and it creates the opportunity for a dark horse. Of course, it's more organizing and administration, so it does come at a price. You might want to delegate that work if you can find some trustworthy volunteers. Er, isnt it called the HDH Invitational? Who cares if these guys are just the big names. I agree that there are probably some awesome unknowns who could do well if they qualified, but qualifying isnt exactly the nature of an invitational. So, anyone who bitched about it is a turd brain.

A compromise would be for the organizers to do a little research and invite lesser known players. I think it's a good opportunity to refresh the list of people everyone knows and wants to see play, as well as gives hope to people who would otherwise not think they had a chance in being involved in something so big so early on.

I know there are a lot of relative unknown players that can compete with many of the players people have mentioned, so it would be nice to give them a chance to get into a big tournament like this. It also gives us more games to watch. Of course people are going to have an opinion. There is both pros and cons with an invitational. You get the names you want, mostly for pr and entertainment reasons, but that can come at the prize of competitiveness. Personally I'd prefer having mostly qualifiers, maybe with a few wild-card spots that you can give to some household names if they don't make it That said, I don't mind invitationals at all, but it is nice to see a good mix of different formats. In the end it's up to what HD and Husky feel like doing.
