on that page about german visas they don't say which percentage of the short-stay visa applications were denied.
a) Number of short-stay visas (transit, visits, business, tourism) issued by German missions in 2002: 2.203.028 (2001: 2.349.724)
(b) Number of visas issued by German missions for longer stays and stays intended for gain-ful employment in 2002: 394.423 (2001:399.975)
(c) Number of visa applications refused by German missions in writing in 2002: 3.037.315 (2001: 3.232.626)
(d) Total number of applications processed by German missions in 2001: 3,232,626 (2000: 3,051,054)
the numbers are confusing and partially wrong i think (the number of refused visa equals the number of applications processed in 2001 T_T) but oviously there is no information about how many short-stay visas were denied (the total number is probably wrong and even if not it is only the total number for long-term visas).

1. Apply well in advanced (6-12 months) of your visit. This gives you the opportunity to re-file if you application is denied. The more times you try; the more likely you are to win a visa.
come on... that is a very stupid suggestion for wcg players. They are supposed to know 6 ~ 12 months beforehand that they will qualify for WCG??? WCG should have thought of this and have something ready in case things like this happen.

If ur a likely winner applying in advance is a reasonable idea in most nations ~ problem is that filing fees are prohibitve for many chinese ~ like a month wage in semi rural china, and half a month in urban china.

The visa you get in China for US will expire in 6 months. GG. If you got rejected 3 times, you can not apply in 6 months. GG. Any rejection before will also decrease your chance to get the visa.
2. ... 3. ... 4. ...
Even if all that were to happen (and it may have happened) the application may still be denied. Perhaps the applicant has a family member currently in the USA that has overstayed his visa.
Or just pure bad luck. Like the other 800 million ppl we have here.

China? (Hosts TV games and highclass tournaments for war 3 and BW)

PJ knew he was the favorite to win by a large margin. Seems logical that he could have applied before he won to increase his chances.
|
Even so, Pj was probably just keeping his modesty, think about it, if you had gone through all the troubles to obtain an visa but only to lose in the final? then what? you would be stuck with a visa but no money or reason to go... BW is very unpredicable...

Its just retarded to suggest you should apply for a visa before you are qualified. I bet one stupid customs agent who is 64 years old with an old communist grudge who has no kids just denied everyone a visa. Finally he got to feel important.
Ps. I mean they are from China; who the fuck cares. And I get off early so I can get some more beers for the evening fotball game.

US visa policy is not in any way similiar to UE.
|
I agree that it is unfortunate, but i feel that it was a mistake of the WCG. Its not as if the US just changed their visa policies. The WCG should have thought about it. Yes the visa policy is a bitch, but there isn't anything that can be done.
PJ should apply for a sanctuary visa.

The USA is just being extra careful. I wouldn't trust the Communist Chinese in my country and I don't blame them.

You have got some serious fucking issues man...

damn it.... those chinese are going to sneak in some missiles with nukes, shoot them from SF, and blow up the capital.
|
The US isn't scared of terrorism from the Chinese or anything like that. Too many foreigners sneak over and become illegal. This includes a lot of nations, and that's why they're careful about it.There are many stories of Chinese people straying from a group with a B type visa or some tourist visa. I think some countries actually make a lot of tourists put down collateral or make sure they have a certain amount of money in a bank.
