So it's summer vacation, and I have a few goals over summer vacation. Get D+ on ICCUP, finish an album I've made with my friends (music), and get some excercise.
However something has gotten in the way of my ICCUP'ing goal. My computer's internet suddenly stopped working (on a laptop) and it makes things harder for me to play starcraft. I am still able to, but I need a different setup which I am currently using, however I can't play as often and as easiely as I would like because of it.
My computer decided to be an asshole and it suddenly could not find the drivers for my Microsoft TUN Miniport Adapter (I should note my computer is an XP and my laptop is a vista.) I've tried downloading numerous drivers for on the laptop and transferring them via USB to get them to work but it's to no avail. I don't have the money to buy a windows XP service pack, nor do I have the money to send it in to get repaired. I've looked at numerous different websites to see what the problem is yet they either don't apply to my situation, or they're just too complicated for me to want to take the risk.
I know there are quite a few people on TL.net who are really good with this kind of stuff, so if you would be kind enough to suggest something that might be able to work please post. If you need more information just tell me and I'll be happy to give more details of what I need to be done.
I really didn't want to come to Tl.Net until I tried many different options, and I don't feel comfortable on any other forum than this one.
Thank you so much in advance for anyone who is even willing to give it a shot.

Actually I was 3.

If you still have your system restore disk, you could use that as a last resort.
I'm not sure if you want to do that though.

If you haven't done anything else to your computer that you don't want to undo, you might try to system restore to a time when the driver was working. I've had trouble with my audio driver disappearing before and system restore fixed it.

download xp, burn, boot up and reinstall

Looks like someone keep looking in everyone's profile.
You joined TL.net less than one month ago, you contributed NOTHING to my request, you have posted in here twice on topics completely unrelated to MY OP. This isn't the forums, this is a blog, and I have the right to ban you if I want. Keep this up, and I'll just tell you to GTFO.

Gg. Does your comp have a 'return to factory setting' option in the bootup menu? Try system restoring to a week before the problem first started?

I had a similar problem in which something happened to my computer that made me lose my driver for my monitor (640x800 resolution and never changed) I tried downloading a bunch of shit but nothing really worked.
What I did was a system restore like everyone else did and my monitor started working normally again.
If the system restore doesnt work, try reformatting your computer and see if it works. Though I dont see why the system restore will fail.

^.^ Thanks, but I'm guessing I'm "so cute" because I'm only 14 years old?

don't feed him. On your computer problem: First, you might consider this as a sign that getting to D+ isn't as important as that exercise you talked about
Second, this sounds like only a reinstall is going to help.
|
What are you planning on doing for exercise?
|
I know this blog is pretty old now, but it's FIXED! I did the the system restore and I couldn't figure the rest out because it was still busted. Luckily my (awesome) dad fixed it for me after me trying solo for a while.
And my excercise is swimming. I swim (hardcore) for atleast 20 minutes everyday
