I know from my old Lan days that i loved it to play when some people watch (well... 5-15 was the maximum i could achieve and half of them i would classify as friends). i don't think it's people play better, it's just that some people can't play their best when there's pressure. because you get caught up in the moment, think about things you shouldn't, which takes away brain power from things you could be thinking about in game

on medusa i 14 cc'd and he opened 2 hatch lurker, killed temples. i saw it coming and made 2 (or 3? i forget) bunkers behind my main + 2 in front, expecting a lurker ling allin. he just contained with 3 lurkers and went 2 hatch muta which i didnt scout. killed a decent number of scv marine and by the time i stabilized and had a vessel he had guardians out. i think it was an allin, 2 base the whole time, but i wasnt able to scout every expo so he may have hidden one. Wow, I want to see the replay. On a side note, is it just bad luck that you have to face July in the very first match of MSL prelims? only in part all the groups are seeded and i am in the most recent round of draftees, we were all matched up against the highest ranked kespa players.
I just saw the replay of game 1 and you did well with the timing push, forcing July to turtle at his base for some time.
Wow, so new progamers would have to take down veterans who have probably won multiple titles in their first match? Tough system.

No one said it was going to be easy.

It wouldn't be fair if Bisu and Jaedong had to play in the first match.

When i saw the vod just randomly checking baezzi it caught me off guard to see idra vs. july... Idra you did very well, July's building placement is so good and just his senses and everything. but you're definitely getting better, i got faith in you.

Nice played idra, very nice control and macro.
When i look at the WCG games(grand finals koreans vs foreigners) i laugh at the rape but here it was actually a decent fight although i could see skilldifference which is ofcourse understandable.
nice to see that you improve over there! fighting!!

Wow so many no-name upsets... I'm look at some of these results thinking WTF.

ROFL bestgod > effort saint > bestgod SAINT > EFFORT??

One of the main reasons why i dont watch and follow the pro scene as much as i used too The amount of newcomers appearing was overwhelming. I dont mind upsets like when bisu beat boxer when he first appeared but i really hate when no names like shinhwa win and than disappear and suck.
by who? by what? I barely recognize any of these guys' names

Personally I think the change is pretty glacial. It's pretty rare where one of them just qualifies out of nowhere... and usually they get your attention if they do. I mean, out of those who actually qualified, the only one that I don't really know is Horang, and I remember his name for something from last season's qualifiers. Players like Skyhigh and By.Baby qualified last season, and they've had enough exposure so most people know who they are now.
Upsets happen all the time, but that's just the nature of it. Also, Shinhwa isn't exactly an unknown... he played 2v2s on Lecaf a ton the past few seasons.
