After almost 5 years and multiple championships, Liquid and HerO have parted ways.
Excerpt to provide some clarity:
Finally, I would like to share some words with you regarding our decision. StarCraft is the game on which the legacy of our team is built. It's a game we all love and care about. I know that, and I'm very aware of it. However, the reality is that it is a difficult game to be involved with in this current climate. The recent WCS changes added complications that altered our ability to work things out with HerO. In this new system, we would lose HerO's presence in DreamHacks and IEMs, and HerO would lose the ability to travel to big international events. It's what HerO has become known for the most, and it's one of the most important values of being on an international StarCraft team. Unfortunately, our two ends just could not meet in negotiations, and HerO decided that it was time to move on. Even though we were unable to work things out with him, we know that he will not be short on options and we wish him all the best.

Noooooooooooooo.
Somebody come up with a collection of his best games please...

The end of an era, indeed. Does Liquid plan to recruit anyone to cover this loss? Also, GG WCS Circuit.

Very sad to hear - best of luck to him of course

Thankfully I've had time to let it sink in.

truly the end of an era for teamliquid

He just got into Code S...what the hell?
Liquid moving away from SC2?
|
Say what? Just as he got back to Code S

Wow this is sad, but understandable in the context of WCS2016.
Best of luck to you HerO! Hope you can do really well in the GSL!

Yeah, the 2016 WCS is not stupid at all, no way.

the end of an era... wow it has been so long

I was wondering if such thing would come, and unfortunately it did...
As TL said " he will not be short on options". So let's wish them the best, both HerO and TL!
|
So TL Don't want to keep Hero because he can't go to events outside of Korea? Or is Hero want a Korean team because he will stay in Korea with this new WCS changes? Plz enlight me .

Hm, the good thing is that hero`s level of play is on the rise again but, given the current climate, he still might find it hard, to get a good offer. I hope he doesn`t face the typical fate of many Koreans, namely taking offers from scam teams etc. I`m concerned however, that this will not be the last departure from the current roster (Taeja as the last Korean and Ret seems to be inactive even though WCS has started)

Well... I dont even know what to what.
