Seriously at this point this is simply speculation and as likely as any other explanation. I would really like it if people waited for more information to come in before they concluded a professional got so deranged he suicided a plane with 150 people on board for no reason at all and without saying a word to anyone.
I do not like to speculate either, but You shouldnt be dissmising suicide hypothesis so easily. A friend of mine hanged himself on his 18 birthday. He had a a nice party with friends, went home and hanged himself. Never said a word and noone expected it. You cant really know whats happening in someones mind. Not saying that whats happaned here, but relaxed conversation isnt proof of anything. Lets w8 for more details.

There have been several suicidal pilots in the past

The theory of suicide is not dismissed, but even if it seems plausible in the light of current "news" you still can find other explainations, and accusing the dead pilot of such a selfish act is too hard without being able to rule out every other alternative or even having a reliable source for the scenario of 'only one pilot in the cockpit". NYT reported that the CVR was damaged and unreadable yesterday....now a military officer came up with their latests news, when in fact the CVR is in the hand of civilian analysts.
Even the NYT does not seem to know wich pilot left, and who remained, if thats true at all.

From the information out right now it's not even certain that there was anyone in the cockpit at all. There is like a hundred explanations other than an insane pilot flying a plane full of people into a mountain for no reason at all.
If that turns out to be the final outcome it'll be very tragic. But right now there isn't even an official statement from the investigation of the recorder.

News around the world now showing still from that airbus youtube video about the door found yesterday, very professional. Entirly based on AFP and NYT's one lonely source....Journalists in Haltern pay kids to give interviews about their dead classmates and friends. It's not even 20km from here...wanna go suckerpunch someone.

Weren't black boxes known to be indestructible? It pains me to no end that we can land probes on Mars yet cannot even create a device like that

Hrmm crashing at 500-700km/h on rock. There is hardly anything that would survive such an impact. The destruction of the plane alone is alarming, there is hardly a piece left over larger than a car's door. If you fall from a plane, your would not even reach half the velocity because of friction.
Edit:
Staatsanwaltschaft Düsseldorf confirms NYT-Scenario
Edit II:
Press Conference:
Younger First Officer had controll over the plane after Senior Pilot left cockpit, intendently set flight paramter to descent once he had controll, Senior Pilot was outside the cockpit, told the younger pilot to let him in, and stop descent. Nothing happend. CVR also catched france ATC trying to contact the plane, but while there was somebody breathing on the tape, there was no answer.
So suicide and delibarate action are confirmed...

From the Guardian live ticker: http://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2015/mar/26/germanwings-plane-crash-investigation-press-conference-live-updates-4u9525
"Brice Robin (the Marseille prosecutor) said the identification of the bodies has started, but the second black box has still not been found. There is a transcript of the last 30 minutes of conversation between the two pilots, he says. The first 20 are amicable. Then it gets laconical. The pilot asks the co-pilot to take over. The pilot leaves for a “natural call”.
While alone the co-pilot accelerates descent. He used keys of monitoring system to speed up descent, it was voluntary. We hear a number of appeals by the pilot to get access to the cockpit but there was no access. He knocks on the door but there is not response. There is the sound of breathing from co-pilot until impact."

FDR will tell wich switch was pushed at what time.
Starting to sound like a suicide (or deliberate attack like you said) to me.
e. Well, you said it yourself above. My bad.

Sadly though.
CVR shows that pilot was indeed awake ( normal Breathing noise), delibertaly did not open the door, and deliberatly crashed the plane into the mountains. At least it seems most passengers were not aware of the situation.
If you ever known someone who died too soon, you start to really be angry if somebody kills himself for what seems to be minor reasons, but somebody who knowingly, takes 150 people with him.... unbelievable.

They are not indestructible but they are required to be able to survive in extreme conditions (accelerations of 3.400g or temperatures over 1.000ºC during one hour). However, nothing can really remain intact if the co-pilot wanted to crash the A320 at ~750km/h on purpose.

I know words don't mean anything at this point, but I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Doesn't sound like terrorism to me. At least certainly not related to the Middle East. But it really doesn't look like terrorism at all.

Just so people know who they are speculating on being a terrorist...
+ Show Spoiler +
1. He was German national from Montabaur, Germany.
2. He joined Germanwings in September 2013.
3. He had 630-hours logged as a co-pilot.
