New names to discover
Any recommendations on who to watch out for?
There are just too many :o To name just a few (sorted by team):
Zest and Stats are proven to be beasts from last season (and Stats from BW), Myungsik did well in an IEM qualifier, TY is the well-known Baby and pretty good. Hitman was one of Mr. Bitter's favorite players.
Trend, emotion, Solar, and Burning all play a
lot in online cups like ZOTAC, go4sc2, etc., and are quite good. Reality and Roro are probably the best performers from last season. Turn and Kop weren't heavy hitters, but did get some surprisingly strong wins.
Classic is the favorite of many of us, since he was mediocre as Terran and then switched to Protoss and proceeded to annihilate the competition, including PvP master Rain. Bravo had a really good record last season on Woongjin Stars, but didn't get sent out much
As for SKT zergs, be careful with those, haha. They went on surprisingly strong, albeit short, streaks last season, though. (Parting, Rain, and Soulkey should be obvious favorites.)
If you don't know about the CJ players, just know that they have acquired the one of the greatest coaches in SC history. They pretty much all have the potential to become beasts. herO, Sora, Bbyong, Bunny, Effort, and Hydra have all proven success in one way or another in the past.
Jin Air GW has some powerhouses. sOs and Maru most obviously, while Cure, Rogue, and Coca have also shown strong performances in the past though less consistently. Pigbaby has a hilarious name and is also pretty good.
IM, MVP, and PRIME should all be rather familiar to you. If you don't know Trap, he's dang good. UngNim is an up and comer. Jila (Kal) is a BW legend but we haven't seen much recent SC2 from him at all. MVP doesn't have any KeSPA players from last season. I don't know much about the newer PRIME guys...Kassia is a former WJS rookie and Departure has been around for a long time, for what those are worth.
