Edit: I'm talking about the different strategies, build orders, and explanations of the maps. Something like the recommended threads section in the tl.net strat section. The different shops/taverns on each map make my head spin.
An equivalent site to TL.net for WC3: TFT?

Just watch reps from war3.replays.net and wcreplays.com and pick it up on your own. Play ladder a bunch. Its honestly very easy to learn that game.

Just yesterday I lost a game in like 5 minutes where I was trying to bm harrass a hu, and got trapped in his base because i didnt know arcane tower drained mana -_-. And yes I'm browsing wc3replays.com. All the info they give is in specific circumstances, I guess I'm looking more for like a list of maps, heroes, skills, and how they fit a together for a build and how they fare vs other builds.

Its not as meta-based as SC. Something that is good is generally good in WC3. Im definitely not the best WC3 player here but I did get pretty high up the west ladder on my first TFT account i ever made(Probably around #400 with 50-55% wins and about 150+ games). If you play Orc I will just say that Blademaster is the best hero in every mu except Orc vs Orc and possibly vs Hu in which case you want to use Farseer. And the Farseer is generally better for creeping strategies while the blademaster's strength is harassment/scouting. There are actually two item shops. The goblin shop and uh.. the "item" shop. Most maps dont have item shops and aside from selling stuff they are kind of worthless. The goblin shop items are always the same, I believe and the timing for them is just something you will have to learn by playing. Generally the important points are: Boots of Speed become available in the first night cycle. Healing scrolls become available on Day 2(I think). Really nothing else is integral. Map specific stuff is generally kind of limited. Some maps favor creeping a lot if there are lots of low/mid level creeps to work your way up on quickly(Terenas is sort of like this, I guess?). A major map specific thing is that Blademaster really owns up on Lost Temple. He can keep any other race out of the center pretty easily and grunts + healing fountain + BM will tear through everything when unharassed very quickly. So most hu/NE players will fast expand while orc goes standard T2 tech + a lot of creeping. Judging by you not knowing that the tower drains mana I would say you are pretty new to WC3. So if i were you, i would just play a lot of ladder man. 3/4 dudes you play from level 1-15 will be HORRIBLE, so you can just try out anything and play your best and you should be able to take some wins. The ladder difficulty will scale as you get better. When I started i lost a lot of my first games but was quick to put together effective low/mid level harassment strats. Once I hit the mid 20 levels I needed to play more standard and I started losing a lot of OvO because if you dont go Farseer + Firelord its insanely hard. And then I realized WC3 was only fun because it was easy to get games on amm and I went back to BW.

Now the reason I mention that is because especially if you come from a StarCraft background, you're going to have difficulties watching replays and seeing what's actually important. In StarCraft, you can look at build orders, unit combinations, strategies etc. etc. but in WarCraft 3 you have to look VERY deeply at more important elements, such as creeping patterns, timing (for all aspects, creeping/building/attacking), specific items, specific hero choices, positioning of particular units, focusing of particular units, etc. Those are the things that are going to separate you from the newbies, knowing how to recognize and utilize those things. Watching replays, you'll learn proper unit combinations very quickly, but you won't win much on that alone. Pay close attention to the things I mentioned, and you'll have a fairly good idea of where to go from there.

WCReplays is the closest I guess. SK-gaming covers well, but that's pretty much where it ends.
