You also ignore parts of the interview where he calls people no skill for saying zerg op, and that Terran players are shameless. Then he should have whined to blizzard, not publicly trying to discredit Sniper's win. It was really rude to Sniper but there's really no better way to get his point across than to type it in the chat for all to see when all the Blizzard employees are sitting in the audience. That's rather childish though. "Oh Blizzard employees are watching, perfect time to balance whine on stage as they'll have to address this then (in my limited point of view)." By that logic Blizzard shouldn't even attend such events because people just try to prove their point via ingame chat instead of just typing gg, not immediately discrediting their opponent and actually address their concerns in an interview or so afterwards. The idea that Blizzard employees who watch Starcraft 2 events are supposed to feel guilty for what's going on instead of enjoying a tournament is ridiculous. Let them just watch the darn tournament and don't try to force knee-jerk balance reactions on them due to the currently ongoing tournament. They won't ignore the results, don't worry. The pro players are getting desperate because this has been going on for 7 months and there have been no balance changes, so you get outbursts like this. If Blizzard did their job and balanced the game better earlier on it wouldn't have to get to the point where we have all the top threads on Reddit complaining about Zerg and people threatening to quit the game or stop watching the game if nothing changes. Maybe It's childish but all I can do right now is feel bad for the pro gamers that have to endure the current state of the game for a living, if I were them I would have quit or changed my race. At least Protoss has their all ins that will work more often than fail if they are better than their opponent. What has been going on for 7 month? Zerg domination in premier tournaments? Not really, starting May 2012, Terran won 5 of them, Zerg 8, Protoss 9. Yeah, the Terrans are worse than the other two, but "domination" is something else (for example when Terran won about as many tournaments as the other two races combined) I don't know why you're asking me to explain myself on something I didn't say. I didn't say Zerg has been winning every tournament, you did. 7 months is how long it has been since the last balance patch. Looking at only the winners of tournaments to determine balance is a terrible idea, you should look at the game itself. For example if we take Taeja out of the numbers Terran goes down to 2 wins, during Taeja's really strong period he transcended the imbalance because he was simply the much better player than his opponents. Has it been 7 months?! What the heck time passes fast >.< Feel so old now...

wasn't BW balance really bad as well for a significant stretch? As soon as BW was patched back in 2001 or so iirc every imbalance was caused by maps or "recent" trends (sair reaver trend turned PvZ on its head to name one).

Well I wont be watching ZvZ finals but after this interviews, I am sure cheering for Hyun....

Hope HyuN fucking destroys this kid.

Yeah HyuN! Finish strong now!

Now I hate sniper, I hope he gets destroyed in the finals. Hard.

of course sniper is gonna be pissed when ryung blames everything on balance and shouts imba imba imba at a code s semifinals
|
Sniper should have said something like "I want to thank Blizzard and personally David Kim, without them I would never get in the final". Instead of this he claims that terran players are shameless and balance whinners have no skill. This is very funny :D

I for one is looking forward to Sniper's runner-up curse, code b you shall be.

Well, Sniper is definitly picking well his role of vilain.

Ryung couldn't win GSL even during the Super Tournament times, and he never will, even if Terran becomes ridiculously OP one day.
It's hilarious that he whined at the end of a match he lost 3-2. He might have won if he didn't proxy 11/11 all in and actually played a straight up game in game 2. Does he really think he's that much better than Sniper, that he barely lost even when the game is so "imba imba imba"? Needs an ego check.

I guess I'm just a bit confused as to why everyone suddenly decided that the Ryung vs Sniper series was the defining moment of imbalance. Even before the "IMBA IMBA IMBA" the LR thread was full of people whining about what an injustice Sniper's victory was. Ryung is very good but let's not kid ourselves, not many people predicted him to reach the finals, he has only reached the Ro8 once (over a year ago. And once in the super tournament) and he was knocked out of IPL5 by Scarlett and HuK. Plus both him and Sniper just flew to the US and played for two days in IPL5, so neither of them are at their peak. AND HE LOST 2-3! There's plenty of stuff to latch on to if you want to complain about balance, but I don't at all blame Sniper for being upset when both Ryung and the community single him out and claim that he is undeserving.

You REALLY think sniper is a better player than Ryung? Really?
|
I didn't say that, and it doesn't matter if I do. He's not so far below Ryung that a close victory of his is only possible due to imbalance. edit: and it's pretty clear that Ryung was not playing his best over the past couple of days

You REALLY think sniper is a better player than Ryung? Really? Why not? Ryung messed up and Sniper didn't. This was after Ryung came back from 2 - 0 to 2 - 2 so he should have the mental advantage as well.

Gotta admit, Sniper's got some balls. Doesn't care if he'll never have fans with that "Zerg not imba" comment.
Hope he still gets crushed though

The above post is definitely over exaggerating, as I don't think that many people do hate him. Regardless, the community does look at Ryung's comment during the game in a lighter light than Sniper's statement during the interview. But I think that is not because of zerg bashing mood that has become more dominant in the past few months. Because regardless how the community hates a loosing player raging at his opponent at the end of the game (without falling into obscenities ofc), a winner insulting the loser after the game is much much worse.
Anyways, I am a bit disappointed in Sniper. Not because of his statement, but because he missed such a great opportunity. Had he instead given an MVP-like answer it would've been a perfect chance to show the world that he does not only the skills of a champion, but also the character and the mindset deserving one.
