YorkShin City and the Genei Ryodan arc was probably the best series of episodes Ive ever seen in an anime, though thats not saying much because I dont watch much anime. Either way though, the action, the thinking involved, and the sound track in that arc was just incredible. Everything before that and Greed Island was pretty good too. Besides the Chimera Ant arc (and the abnormally large amount of pseudo gay subtleties and girly men characters), Hunter x Hunter is a great anime and Im really glad theyre remaking the series. If they dont keep the same musical score from the Genei Ryodan arc, I really hope they can live up to the previous one. Listening to this one right now:

This series was really well done prior to this arc but the author has clearly lost his interest in the series and the desire to write it. It's just a shame. I agree with the above poster as well, the music for the first anime series and even the OVAs was phenomenal and really set a great tone for the series. The track with the harmonica in particular is incredible.

HxH has one of the most intriguing power/battle systems in ALL of manga, but Ant arc was poorly executed for how good it could have been. YorkShin arc is one of the single best arcs in any manga ever published IMO. So many interesting characters and a great plot. Though we did get to meet some interesting new Hunters which was nice. RIP Netero. Well, at least it is time to move on. Hopefully Togashi still has something left in the tank.

It know it's a stretch, and maybe the timeline doesn't even work, but it would be pretty cool.

It's a small, easily concealable bomb which was hidden in the chairman's chest. Right before death, he killed himself and in the process took out the king, who was then revived by two of his subordinates, Pitou and .... I don't remember the other guy's name. The deadliest part of the bomb is the resulting cloud which poisons you and kills you at the cellular level.

Togashi has serious health issues, don't be a dick. Edit: After fact checking, he very clearly had serious health issues, but I think one of the hiatuses was being he had another kid. I find this another acceptable reason.

I know he has health issues, but there was another chapter where he basically drew in scribbles. Literally. And then his next chapter was fine. There is plenty of examples on when mangakas and comic writers take a small bit of revenge against their overbearing editors. Rarely do other writers get away with this, but Togashi is able to do so. And I'm not hating on him, it's very amusing in fact. I'm guessing you misunderstood me. Edit: I guess I'll clarify. I agree with his long break, he needed time to rest and get back on his feet. But Jump wanted him to churn out chapter after chapter. Small wonder some comic writers insert their own editors as hated characters as an example..

Not really. He raked in the big bucks and couldn't give a damn to keep going. He can do that, it's his work afterall. Doesn't change that it's turned into a piece of shit work. Hunter X Hunter is really terrible, it has been since the ant arc and more so the further it got into it and the lazier he got. I know people with pfeiffer that got more work done then this guy. He has a special status since the works he made make a lot of money so he can pretty much act in whatever way he feels like. A good example of what happens when an author knows he has his company by the balls. He can do what he likes but i don't understand why people seem to demand people praise him for writing poorly and having the work etiquette of a 2 year old. Just call a duck a duck. He wrote HxH into the ground. He deserves praise for the story he wrote and criticism for what he made it into. Writers are not above critique. He didn't have to work to make his money anymore and just like most people, it turned him into a lazy person.
