you mean cl_interp? I have it set to 0.0152 which is standard -_-
Nothing we can really do unless valve wants to fix their own game.

I just got CS 1.6/Condition Zero/Source and if someones close as a noob I spray off like 6-10 rounds and they never seem to die and when I try to just throw a few rounds its not effective since my aiming seems shitty can someone let me in on like the m4 and ak47 aiming "pathing"? Should I be sweeping from like bottom through mid body to shoulder or just always try for a fast headshot? (ps to anyone that plays 1.6 can you recommend me a server because I haven't found one related to TL yet)

Your first 3 bullets on the ak and m4 are the most accurate , but u have to make sure your not moving so lets say u are strafing left you need to tap D before u start firing to make sure your still not moving left at all. Your first bullet should be aimed at the head then after that you should be moving down to the chest area, after that it depends there are 3 / 4 different spray patterns for the ak and m4. So the best way is this when ur far range u use 1 to 3 bullets and its called TAPPING so you shoot stop shoot stop shoot stop. For mid rage you are going to do the same thing if you are seeing more then 1 target then u kill the first one using the TAP method then you can go into a spray , next would be close range close range is up to you again spraying might give you an advantage but making sure your first shot is at least aimed at the head. Now say your close and the enemy has his back turned and doesn't see you. Then your going to hold CTRL then TAP shoot his head area, if he turns then can go into a spray.
Alright also we have to talk a little more about the spray patterns there are youtube videos on the spray patterns, but I haven't played competitively for about a year but im pretty sure they havnt changed, as I said you aim for head first with first 3 bullets then after that i aim for chest with M4 I move in small circles, with AK i drag it lower and lower as im spraying using the top of my cross hair aiming for the chest.
Hope that helped :D also just make sure a lot of people dont know , u cant jump and shoot an aim this is not some COD game lol also like i said you have to make sure you are not moving when shooting. :D I am not saying that is you im just saying in general some people dont know.

Does anyone know what anti-aliasing and filtering settings are preferred for competitive play?

I'm pretty interested in learning from watching professionals, but i can't seem to find a good community site (as close to tl as possible :p) that's dedicated to cs:source. Is this going to be too difficult with source? If I'm looking for more competition should I switch to 1.6? I regret it now, but I got into cs source before I even heard about 1.6, and at this point it would feel like a lot of wasted time if i switched.

Thanks for the tips seizetheday yesterday I was going like 0-10 maybe i'll try and implement some of that today

Thanks man that helps a ton, and yes I'm so used to Sudden Attack I do move a lot while shooting and I miss more than half the time even when it should be a definite kill. It's been bothering me but at the same time I'm glad I won't get good at this in a month like Sudden Attack I wanted a challenge. Oh and can you answer me one more question man, how can I get the maps Depot and Warehouse on 1.6 or Source? I'm dying to play them on here but can't find them on the servers anywhere, those are my favorite maps from Sudden Attack and I've seen they were remade on CS. Thanks again! ^^

Both those servers are US based?

I don't really know but the game may be dying off, I mean its over 10 years old. IMHO there is a pretty equal amount of competition in both games. Don't play 1.6 because there might seem to be more competition, just play the game you like more

For the most part, competitive cs:s has gone way downhill since the breakup of CAL, CGS, and in general professional teams reverting back to 1.6 or just sticking to it from the first place. CEVO is still sort of active and there are a few teams that remain dedicated, but yes 1.6 is where most of the people are at.
EDIT: someone else mentioned esea also

Regarding commentary, I never got anything out of it, watching 5v5 demos (or better, live) was always so much more exciting than a 1v1 RTS replay. I assume there will be HLTV servers for IEM? It was always so amazing to watch a tournament through the eyes of the players and seeing the strategies come to life on both sides each round.
I would say no time you spend on 1.6 is much of a waste, the biggest difference is getting used to weapon firing characteristics, the HL 1 engine, hit boxes and other minor things (like flashbangs being less powerful, buying ammo, wallbanging, etc.). If you get insanely good at 1.6 and go back to Source you'll just be a better Source player.

Needs more people in the casual server for newbies like me!

I have a lot of secrets about source :D I used to be semi-pro at it hehe :D

wow - didnt recognised the server, yet.... from now on: see you ingame ;P

Nobody goes blue server. Is it worth having around? Maybe we can dedicate just 1 night a week on "red" server to be a game night. I think that might be better.
|
Now I wanna play 1.6 with TLers=( I could never get into source after playing 1.6 a lot; I do fine in pubs but I get annoyed super fast. Tbh I even think 1.6 looks more realistic than source lol (guess got used to it). But ill check ur server out.
p.s. i would kill for a good oilrig game

Or base it in a different location so other people can play
